More Bad news folks..... my unlimited was backed into at the body shop today. I got the call this afternoon that a delivery truck accidentally backed into it making a delivery and smashed in the back of my jeep. I am at a loss for words. Just my damn luck! I havent seen it yet, but they said that the tire and tire carrier are history along with the rear door. Im so fed up. Rich..

you better make THEIR insurance pay for it. Don't even think of letting them put it on your insurance. You might be able to get them to put on an aftermarket tire carrier/bumper instead at their expense, if they're sorry enough. Either way, hold on to your original estimate and look at it side by side with your final work receipt - if they added ANY parts that were involved with the delivery accident, that's insurance fraud I believe. Was a police report made? good news - you now know which body shop NOT to go to next time. bad news - your carfax isn't going to be clean anymore.

It is the trucking companies insurance that should pay. You should be able to get 3 estimates and choose who fixes it. There is no reason you have to use the dealer you bought it from for repairs. I would get separate estimates on all the damage from both events from outside shops, and your dealer. Since the Jeep dealer will be able to get the parts for less then an outside shop, they can fix it the cheapest. Tell the dealer you are going to take it else ware to get fixed unless they want to do the repairs and include your deductable from the theft . Since they have some responsability in not providing a safe place to park your Jeep in their lot they should work with you. Good Luck, I think you need some.
