elff!!! You owned that kid. This coloradojeeper stuff is the funniest thing I've read in a while. We need to move every one of his threads to the humor section. elff, I see what you mean about the lift and gears. 4.88's would be perfect for 35's with the 5spd. I'm thinking about 4.56's for mine, with the hope of replacing my 33's with 35's, but she's an auto. Bent frame... My tummy hurts. Keep in mind your auto turns lower rpms at cruising speed than the 5 spd. I was actually holding out for the alloy usa 5.13's but they were delayed again so i just went with superior 4.88's. As i said the 4.88's put me almost back to stock(4.10 gears rubicon) with a slightly lower gear ratio but not by much. I also tow a 19' tent trailer that weighs close to 3000lbs so i really wanted the 5.13's. My cruising rpm at 55mph is around 1800 rpm. I dont recall the rpm at 65mph but think it was right around 2100-2300rpm. So basically what i am babbling about if you are planning on moving to 35's go with 4.88 gears especially if you are towing.

I'm thinking about 4.56's for mine, with the hope of replacing my 33's with 35's, but she's an auto. The Auto's are a little sluggish compared to the 5 speeds because the gearing of the transmission is a little higher. 2.0x first gear vs 4.02 of the 5 speed. My buddy who I have been wheeling with since I got the rubi has an auto and went with 4.88s also. It really gave him a quick jeep off the line with his 33s and when he moved up to 35s, it kept the jeep performing better than it did stock. The lower gears in the auto do help with gas mileage as well because you can keep the O/D on. With 4.56s you might have to turn that off for the larger street hills and thus burn more gas. HTH

Let's Go Pitt You wouldn't be referring to the 4-4 Panthers, would you? One might think you are trying to compare them to the #18 Mountaineers, now 6-1. ;D November 24th should be a fun day in Morgantown. In all seriousness, I always loved the Pitt games most. This is just typical Pitt football...lose to the worst teams in the country and either beat, or hang with the best teams in the country. It should be an exciting game this year...just like every year. It would be nice to go to a BCS bowl again. I think the Mountaineers are a bit more deserving this year though...just like last year. I like the backyard brawl, becasue it always seemed to me to be a more good-natured rivalry. No fights, riots or general nastiness that we saw during the Pitt-Penn State rivalry days.

Well I just got this ride about 6 months ago, right now it's stock. But After I give it a Lift, a Heavy Duty Suspension, and some 33', I think I I should be ready for the Off-Road Quater Mile. My recent Times have been pretty decent, but unfortunatley my frame is a little longer than most, and it tends to break easily...especially around trolls Some of you guys are probably wondering what I am doing in this site. Well I live the jeep life Vicariously through my good friend (A regular here). Have always loved jeeps. Once my warranty is up (5years) on the mustang I am going to begin modifying it. At that point I will need a new everyday driver, which hopefully will be a Diesel Wrangler (if they ever come out with them ). I don't know much about the mechanics and physics of auto's, but i am hoping to pick up a little info through you guys. My friend says this board is a good time. So if I ever ask a stupid obvious question, bear with me I am a Noob. I realize this smilie has nothing to do with my post, or any other post for that matter, but d**nit, it makes me smile

Very nice!!! Who makes that front bumper, and is the winch plate built in to it??? The front bumper was made at a local powdercoating and fab shop. The owner is a big time jeep fanatic and even builds jeeps from the ground up with custom tube frames and such. The bumper has a built in winch and steering skid mounts/plates. The name of the shop is MBI Powder Coatings (559) 924-8392

Took some time yesterday to go wheeling on my lunch break. We have a pretty decent trail right behind where I work. Didn't get any good action shots cause we were in a hurry. This was at the end of the trail though!
