There is a oil leak between the oil pan and transmission. I took it in a year or so ago and they told that they cant do anything about it cause its not a big leak, but now i think its getting worse any of you had this problem or have a number of some sort so i can show it to the dealer. its an auto transmissiom.

Thats a rear main seal leak. Common on the late model wranglers..
I took mine to the dealer, they had to pull off the oil pan, put a new gasket on and put on some RTV sealant I think. Then put some oil in it, under warranty.
My regular warranty ran out, but we all have the powertrain warranty (5yr or so), and it had a 100 dollar deductable..

Im under 36,000 miles so i guess i don't have to pay 100 dollars and they cant blame the lift cause when i took it the first time i didn't have the lift installed and i have all my paper work to prove it so i all i have to do is get an appointment thanks.

I had a lift on mine and all they said was.."Cool Lift".
I'm 100% positive they can't refuse free warranty work on a lifted Jeep unless they can prove the lifted suspension caused the problem.

I got back from the dealer and everything is covered. They didn't say anything about the lift so im ok. The service guy was cool he said he has a dodge power wagon with 4.56 gears, winch and all and he wheels it to its hard to find service people like that.

Well crap. I just noticed a leak under the Jeep on my garage floor and it's coming from the same place as the pics that jeepguylj posted! Guess I'll be taking it in early next week. Glad this topic was posted.

That's good to know that it was only an oil pan gasket that needed replacing. My leak is in the same area so I'll let the dealer take care of it this week sometime. Thanks for the info!

Just wanted to say that I did end up having a rear main seal leak like most of you did. Got it fixed at the Stealership today and also ended only paying the $100 deductible. Not only did I get the oil changed as part of the repair job, but they also checked a bunch of other odds and ends for free and all is good so far. I told the guy who worked on my Jeep that others "I know" have had this same leak. He said he was surprised that there hasn't been a recall for this problem yet. Makes you wonder!

I changed my oil this weekend and saw what looked to be oil around the bell of the transmission. Seeing your picture makes me wonder if I to have that problem. I guess I will just have to crawl under the Jeep and take another look.
Thanks for the heads up.

When I was painting my undercarriage this weekend, I also noticed a leak in the same spot. Nothing on the garage floor though.
