I've had days like that. It does make you feel kind of small. Hang in there. I wave at most of the Wranglers, unless it's a big intersection or they're a few lanes over. Around here, it seems most who do wave keep it down to a "cool" wave. Their hand stays on the wheel, but the fingers raise a little for a wave. I guess that way, if you're ignored, it's less noticeable. If they aren't waving, either their minds are somewhere else at the moment, or they're just not jeep on the inside.

I never got a wave from anyone in San Diego!! I need to be educated...is it a special wave?? I should start waving to people!!

Almost home, 900 miles on vacation score stands as follows,
Waves-4 No-waves, your an idiot- 8 so about 1/3 of the people wave. Some of the no waves were didn't see the jeep on curvy mountain roads, things. And I have 3 I didn't wave at as I didn't see them in time to wave, they are not counted. Also I did not count any on divided 4 lanes at 70+ mph. Which is almost 300 miles of the vacation. Did notice on 4 lanes the other people looking at the jeep. Did get better results from modified jeeps but not always.

This is my second experience with a wave crowd. My first was when I bought my '69 vette, back in 1993. Not much has changed for me. Back then, I got most of my return waves from classic vettes. Now, with the Jeep, I get my best success rate from modified rigs. So now I'm to the point where I go to condition yellow when a Jeep approaches. If it is modified, I instigate a wave. If not, I'm ready to return a wave at a second's notice. And I'm such a Jeep geek. Getting a wave still makes me smile.

I live outside the city limits. Everybody waves at everybody. I even exchange waves with a black H2 almost every day. In smaller city limits, I wave at all CJs and Wranglers and 75% return or initiate a wave. In Dallas, only about 25% wave, but alot of that is on 8 lane divided highways. Women wave less because they are weary of perverts.(I'm guessing)

I never really got any waves in my xj but when I bought my lj 2 weeks ago I was recieving waves all the time. It sorta was weird because I am used to the wave while riding my bike but never realized that the jeep fraternity did it also.

Since I've had the Wrangler Unlimited, I've received (and given) a lot of waves from other Wranglers. When I had my 2002 KJ, I seldom, if ever, received a wave from another jeep until I modified it with a lift and larger tires. My sense is that the wave is more closely linked to the Wrangler folks than to other jeepers unless your *J is heavily modded.
And, like all of you, the Jeep wave can make my day! Yup, it really is a Jeep thing that others probably just don't understand (although my wife thinks it's kind of neat)

I will always wave (if I'm paying attention). I also ride a bicycle and a motorcycle, so the wave also applies there. More often than not I will wave if I'm driving my wife's car, too. My experience has been that most will return the wave (especially the mail guy with the Right Hand Drive TJ!)
