Last night I closed the deal on an Unlimited X soft top.
I grew up in Boise, playing in the hills. I've never owned a Jeep, but did play a little with a Suzuki Samari. I now live in Southern California with my new wife and her 15 year old daughter. They grew up in SoCal. Needless to say, neither of them like to get dirty, much less camp.
I'm hoping I can get them used to the top down cruising fun of the X...then slowly...slyly....get them a little dusty on a nice fire road...Then maybe a little dirty climbing a hill or two...It might take a couple years...but I'm sure I'll turn them into campers.
If any vehicle can...it'll be this one.
Any L.A. area climbers out there?
Can you point me to some fun and easy day trips?
We live in "the valley" so north/west of LA would be best.
