my 2004 Unlimited has a chrome grille. My question is, if I take my chrome grill off, will the black grill be underneath of it? If so, how hard is it to take the chrome grill off? I would prefer to just have a plain black grille instead of the chrome. I heard from someone that the chrome grille is just is mounted right over the black grille and pops off easily. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanlks so much! Rich

It comes right off. It's an add on so it is finished body color under. There are 2 domed, pressed in, plastic fasteners in the chrome tabs that sit on the top hear the radiator. Pry them out. Then remove the headlight trim rings. That will release the grill. There is some double stick tape down near the bottom but that is all that held mine on. The hardest part was not scratching the paint when you pull it off. Have someone help you. This is a 10 Minute job. Oh yea I believe I had to remove the plastic cover that sits between the bumper and the grill. Good luck, I think the Jeep looks much better without it. Thats why I took mine off.

Way to go! Yea, get rid of the tube bumpers! There are many great bumpers out there to choose from. Keep going, it's only money.

you can probably fetch a pretty penny for those on ebay. or you could sell them back to the dealer, or trade them for factory ones if they'll do it.
