My last TJ I had it mounted on my overhead cage and the mic kept falling off and swinging when climbing.
On the LJ, I learned from my mistakes and mounted it next to my right leg on the drivers side of the console next to the shifter with the speaker pointed out.

I just put mine in the back seat pouch and routed the antenna wire back under the carpet - the power cord up under the console so it pops out behind that little tray. I don't see any wires, I can take the CB to a different vehicle, and it's kind of incogneto. maybe i'll go for the all in one unit like you say carabaoray, but it'll be later. How did you mount yours?
