Hiya Came across the forums on a random google search a while ago. I'm expecting my new Jeep Wrangler Sahara this weekend and I've already put a down payment so I haven't gotten it yet, but I'm still really excited, I'm still a newbie to Wranglers and this would be the first time I'm driving one. Oh yeah am I the only person here living in Dubai? (the Middle East). Cheers .

Welcome to the board....I do believe you are the only Dubai person so far. Maybe you can get a mid east branch going. Where do you put your pin on the map?

Wow, our borders just expanded by quite a bit. Welcome aboard. Us Phoenix natives just lost our temperature crown. You definately have us beat.

Hi Yeah its gets pretty hot around here, but I've been here for around 10 years so I guess I'm used to it heh. About where Dubai really is?, I'll just link you here I guess en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DubaiI'm still very new to Wranglers (and 4x4s in general) but from what I hear, I won't be disappointed. Cheers

Have you tried the ski resort yet? It's quite a feat of engineering.

I personally feel the creators are way in over their heads with the Ski Resort, really its nothing but a giant air conditioner (quite literally if you think about the mechanics of it), it isn't much like real snow and the downhill slope isn't really worth the money you pay.
Although it is quite entertaining to have a cup of coffee and watch the locals slide down on their rears :'D.

I just got back from a year long trip in that part of world. I can't imagine a ski resort around there. Just getting ice to stick around in a cooler was hard enough! That would be something to see though.
I have been wondering though how the whole ports deal debacle was taken over there? Were there a lot of offended people or no reaction?

Not really much reaction among the general public actually, I've lived in Dubai for the better part of my life, and its going to be hard leaving this place soon, life is quite easy here with no taxes, you see shiny new cars on the roads literally everyday, But Dubais also known to harbour some of the worst drivers in the world (true story). I just got word of my Sahara being ready this Wednesday evening , hopefully there won't be any further delays, I'm getting it rust proofed and fitted with 31" wheels. Cheers.
