This is our second Jeep. My first one was a 2004 Sahara (short wheelbase). It was my daily driver and I sometimes towed it behind a motorhome. Lots of fun, but a bit small, and the transmission sucked on the highway. At 70 mph, it had no power, and on a windy day, it couldn't get into OD for several miles. The I-6 was plenty strong, but the gearing was all wrong. I put 31K miles on it in a year (not including miles towed). The long drive to/from work was getting to me. I finally traded it for a 2005 Xterra SE 4x4. My fiance traded her Mustang this weekend for an 06 Unlimited. Same engine, but the gearing is different. Don't know if it's due to different pumkin gears alone, or the tranny has been changed too, but this one does fine on the hwy. The longer wheelbase is less hippy-hoppy, and the extra room is a major plus. We really like it. Sure missed the first the Jeep, and very glad to have one back in the family once again. Yes, this is HER Jeep, but she readily gives me the keys. Gotta love her! www.2manytoyz.com/dsjeep.html
