Hi, new user here. I have a 2006 Unlimited that I've had for a few months now. It's my first Jeep and I love it, just wish there was more opportunity to get it off the pavement around here. Am living on Tybee Island, east of Savannah Georgia, where most off roading would be through marsh. I don't think I really want to risk losing the Jeep to the muck so I stay out of that area. Thus far it is stock and will likely stay that way unless I find a reason to change anything. Thus far I have no need to change anything. Oh, I did add the factory tow hitch after the purchase but I guess that's considered stock isn't it?

Welcome to the forum, I was just talking to a Nappa truck driver two days ago. He was remembering when he went through some of the back country roads, that did have some marshy areas. He's a great old timer ( sort of ) rode his '73 cj7 through the marshes. He used to use vasaline to waterproof different parts of the motor. Anyway I've never been down that way, but from what he explained, it would be a great ride. Have fun with your new unlimited!!

Welcome to the board. My Aunt just moved off of Tybee Island 2 years ago. She moved inland some, over to Pooler. We have been down to visit and besides the heat a humidity it's a great place. Just wait, it won't be long and you will start adding stuff. Everybody does. Don't you have some beach areas you can run?

That's how it start's friend...give it some time...you will be as bad as the rest of us...My Jeep was bone stock for 14 months...now I can't leave well enough alone...there is always something "little" that I want to do to it. I have added the following "Stock" parts: Rubicon Rocker Guards, New style bumper end-caps, and factory cruise control. It's a filthy habit.

Don't you have some beach areas you can run? Gotta head to Florida for that. No beach cruising in Georgia. That's how it start's friend...give it some time...you will be as bad as the rest of us. Oh yeah, I did add a disposable subwoofer. It's a set of computer speakers with a subwoofer tied into the factory speaker wire using a line level /rca converter and a power inverter (which comes in handy for all sorts of nonsense.) I couldn't see putting real money into a nice subwoofer that might end up falling in a creek or something. But I haven't started modifying real parts yet.

I guess I know I have it bad, I had parts to modify mine before the thing even arrived at the dealership.. I had my 1st lift installed the night I brought it home. My wife kept asking what all the boxes were that were piling up in the garage.. I told her I was expecting any day now...

How long have you lived on Tybee? I went to high school at Savannah Christian Prep and later got stationed at Fort Stewart. A lot of good memories from Tybee Island.

I've lived here about a year and a half now. I expect to move in July, possibly to Louisiana.
