Cool, Another Zonie! Welcome aboard. We'll have to hook up on a trail sometime. I'd love to see what the Unlimited Rubi will do on the trail.

Absolutely. I generally wheel with the AZVJC, as well as friends. I generally stick to trails 3+ and less.

Forrest Hey Skipper, try this page: ptheune.net/~pir/photos/Jeeps/Tires/Selector/index.htmIt's not an LJ, but it might help some. My gut tells me that you're not going to see as much difference as you are going to feel, depending upon what tires you want to run and what trails you frequent.

I too am a newbie in AZ. Box stock, less than 200 miles and the last several were in the dirt today while wife was asleep... she works nights. Just finished the battle to get the dual tops separated. That hard top is a real chore to get off. I'm in the Prescott area and would love to find another long one to go wheeling wilth... met 3 short ones going the other way today and they sort of sneered at my long luxurious one crawling along.

Oh, brother. I just bought a 2006 Unlimited. I do not even have it yet (will get it Monday) but I found this site, and I see I have to think about what to add even before I get it! I work at a Jeep Dealer, and have been drooling for a long time. Finally went over the edge with the 0 % financing. I know not a thing about off-road, but I have wanted, nay, NEEDED a Wrangler for half my adult life. Finally getting my fix! I gather the adventure is just beginning!

Welcome aboard Cindy. You're going to have so much fun with the new ride as the weather warms in your direction. Have some fun with it first, figure out what kind of trails you like to ride, and then get the gear that fits your needs.
I would suggest you make a run to Sedona and run Broken Arrow. Leave the doors behind and drop the top. This would be a great time of year to run that trail. It's about a 1.5 hour trail, unless you spend some time at the scenic stops, which isn't a bad idea. You can make this trail with a stock rig, although you might scrape a little coming down the Steps. I have some pictures, and can point you towards some trail reports.
If you plan to run the Arizona trails frequently, a smart addition would be some armor on the juicy spots underneath. One of the cheapest would be a Teraflex oilpan skid, which is pretty cheap.
Hope to see you on the trails!
