My wife is very patient with my Jeep-aholism, however she did insist on having the factory side steps, since she often wears skirts
Any ideas on how to talk her out of this???

I have 4" of lift and 33" tires. The LJ came with the steps, but my 5'4" wife didn't use them. With the lift, she thought the steps were just the wrong height to be of any use.
These days, she just grabs a roll bar and pulls herself in. But that is not with a skirt.
There are rock sliders out there with a step. I like the Shrockworks version we have, but there are many to choose from. They look a bunch better and provide protection, rather than something to get torn off on the trail.
I'm on your side, the factory steps look goofy on the LJ's, but they fetch a nice price on Ebay.

I've got the Jeeperman Trail Skidz on mine...bolt up to the frame and have a good step on them. I could take a picture if you'd like.

So you don't think there would be much trouble selling them (oem side steps) on EBAY???

So you don't think there would be much trouble selling them (oem side steps) on EBAY??? I sold mine, received 16 bids, and they went for $91. A brand new pair sold for $115 a couple days before that. No, I don't think you'll have any trouble. I started mine at $50. Do a search on Ebay for sold ones to get an idea on what to charge for shipping.

I say the next time she's wearing a skirt, come by for a visit. JUST KIDDING.... Check out: www.detoursusa.com/I really want a set of them, however, my clayton long arm kit is in the way of the mounting bracket Might go with rokmen body mounted ones, if mark at detours can't help. Jeff

There are so many aftermarket rockers that can be considered. There are several that stick in my head as the good ones, I am probably ordering either the A to Z ones or the Poison Spyder Customs, because I don't want a frame mounted rocker guard (the frame mounted don't protect as well as the body mounted, but is fine if you aren't planning on hard crawling) A To Z Fabrication Jeeperman Shrockworks Poison Spyder Customs All the factory Side Steps are going to do for you is get you hung up and rip off if you plan on doing any wheeling over a mud pit.
