I just got my 04 Unlimited back from the shop. I had 4:56 gears put in and it seems much better. I am running 32" tires. The chart says I am in between 4:11 and 4:56. The gear supplier said the 4:56 would be better because the Unlimited is heavier and would be carrying more weight as well. I put in the ARB front and rear. One thing that was a surprise is that I have an 05 Rubicon rear end without the Rubicon factory locker . It required a differant shim kit as it is slightly differant then the 04 rear end. So be prepared for anything. I have not had a chance to take it offroad and test out the new lockers yet ,but soon!

That's awesome!!! Congrats on the money well spent  I'm thinking 4.56 gears, e-locker in back, true trac up front, and 33's here in the next year or so... Just gotta build up my "toy fund" |

The total cost for gears , bearings, shim kit,front and rear ARB's with compressor was 3400.00 installed. It is alot of money at one time but I figured to do it right away and get the use of the stuff for more years. Next is bumpers, skids and a winch. Then I think I am in good shape for awhile. Its only money, you can't take it with you!
