I go back to the Dealership tomorrow to negotiate a price on the Unlimited I've chosen. What kind of deals were you able to work out when purchasing your new Jeep? Thanks!

I had a set price through my employer, 1% below invoice + $25.00. One way or another I have always had some type of employee pricing (mostly Ford), so I wouldn't know how to negotiate if my life depended on it.

my sister has that benefit. This is the first time I've had to negotiate the price of a new car and I'm kinda clueless. Thanks for answering

I got a good deal, buy from the Internet through a couple of dealers and work price until you get what you want and buy from the Dealer that gives you the best price, It worked for me, 24000.00 and some change, didn't get the Hard top though. Dave

Got a good deal on mine, I think cause we bought the Rubicon 4 months earlier, so they were willing to work with us on price. I got mine for $21,000 and we were only the 2nd ones to buy an Unlimited from the dealership. Bet mine was the first one to be in the shop for transmission troubles and to be wrecked! ;D

You were able to get a soft top thrown in? Cool! The parts guy where I bought mine didn't have the top for the Unlimited listed yet, and he tried to tell me that it was the same top as the standard Wrangler. I explained that the 15" shortfall might lead to water leaks. I traded a 2001 F150 SuperCrew, not as big as yours, but still bigger than most. I've had a few full size Fords and liked them all, but damn this Jeep is a lot more fun.

They didn't throw the soft top in it was a wopping 1300 bucks. But where I live I will use it 8 months out of the year. ;D I just hit the 300 mile mark today. This is my first jeep. What a trip. I almost rolled it the second night I owned it. I was doing some sand dunes that I used to do in my truck and I had to back down I had done this a hundred times in the truck. But I went to look over my shoulder and turned the wheel JUST a LITTLE and I was sideways on the dune. Now that I have cleaned my pants out I will be much more carefull. I see now it was the MUCH shorter wheel base, but still it shook me up quit a bit. It was also midnight in the desert. Duh! I just couldn't wait.

So anyone else gonna lift these bad jeeps and put some 33's on them??? They look really SWEET!! You wouldn't believe the difference with big tires. Take a look at the pics of mine under the pics post! Enjoy your Unlimited's!! I know I'm enjoying mine. hehehehe...Did you guys notice the strap that came with your books and stuff....it's a long strap that has a metal end on it. It's to hold your sunrider top up in the middle. If you're going down the freeway, it has a tendency to come down in the middle. You hook it to the metal piece that is folded back and loop it around the middle roll bar and TA DA.....no more top coming down blocking your vision (I had this happen once). Your books or video might tell you about this. I did not know this until we saw a friend of ours with a sunrider top doing this. We then realized what the strap was!

Well ive been looking at the unlimited since they were first released. Most dealers kept at MSRP or very close until recently (09/04) when i sat down to negotiate a deal on a gray one. Went home and read that the unlimited rubicon would be coming out so i waited. Found 2 in Dallas area both at MSRP...Then i came across one on ebay in Kokomo, Indiana of all places. Called em up had a chat and agreed on price of $25,887 and had a MSRP of $30,454. I recieve 3 discounts, 1) current $500 discount (2) $500 Military Discount (3) DCX employee discount. Now im not a dcx employee but the dealer had an employee green slip that anyone could use until dec. 31. This brought the wrangler down to below what the dealer could purchase it for. This was the best deal i could find at the time for the rubi version. Its being shipped to me right now. With Taxes, title and licsence ($1,665) plus shipping ($865) it came to a total of $28,417

My '05 was just at $22k. It's has basically the same options on it as the loaded 25H model (soft top only) minus the chrome grill (I know some people like the chrome, but I'll just never understand making it the standard grill on the premium models). But then again, I had 1% under invoice from my work and I got $1750 in rebates (if you went through DC financial you got $2k in rebates, if you go through someone else it drops to $1750). Traded in a '02 Dakota Quad Sport 4x4 for it.
I've got about 700 miles on it so far. Besides for figuring out the best ways to handle the top so I don't fubar it, I've Loved every minute so far. Doubt I lift it until I've had it a year or so, but by then things should have settled down enough I will probably get to that. Figure main things I'll go for in the meantime is the K&N filter set up and different exhaust.
Biggest pain in the neck I've seen is that you have to be carefull on the aftermarket stuff or else it won't fit (they just don't seem to get that there's a difference between a SWB and LWB TJ on a lot of things - kinda like that dealer mentioned above and the SWB soft top on an Unlimited). Other than that....It's been a blast...

I got the dual top option on my 05 and I guess it would be the base model - which was all I really wanted anyway - for 22,500 out the door.
