Going from the 81 scrambler snap on roll windows up soft top to this new one is a bit of a change. The unlimited is a 04 and the softtop was from a 05. I was able to get it fully on, windows zipped in and tight but what a pain. Is their secrects to this? I felt like i was putting lots of stress on the zippers. also it is suposed to have the flip up top on it and how does this work? I was able to get the sliders back and 1 fold on it but that left it lose and hanging on my head, another trick? pic would also be helpful. I am just a tard with this i guess. TIA Shawn

Is it a brand new top? If so, it will stretch with use. I won't say it gets a lot easier, but it does get a little easier. Its a pain, but I would rather have it tight than loose. It helps if it is a warm/sunny day since it is much more flexible when warm.
My method to putting it up is this: I first hook the header clamps up front but don't tighten them down. Then I hook the rear corners and clip the Sunrider clips (the clips just above the door sills). I then zip in the sides without tucking them in the bottom. If you tuck one side, zipping the other can be tough. Once everything is zipped, I close the clamps up front and tuck the windows starting at the doors and go back. Lastly I tuck the sills over the doors. If I hurry I can get it done in about 5 minutes - usually take my time and its more around 10.
As for the Sunrider top, I have only used it a few times. I personally prefer all or nothing, but it isn't bad on the occasion. I am assuming you didn't get the nylon straps that were included with the top. If not, go to the dealership and see what you can get - should be relatively cheap. In that bunch of nylon straps is one with a wide metal hook that hooks to the header and loops over the rollbar to bundle up the excess roof material when folded back. Folding it becomes an art (one that I haven't perfected) but you can get it so it doesn't flap or sag with a little practice.

My buddy swears that getting a candle and wiping the zipper with it makes it much easier to zip and unzip. Not sure if its true.

I'm in with Belfast. It's the way I do it. When working with the side windows I make sure to start the zipper about an inch, and then double check the door part to make sure it's nice and snug.
The warmer the better. If it's under 50F the top and windows don't like to co-operate...but you probably know that coming from a scrambler.
I find it easy to stick the back velcro of the side windows to the top lightly to help line the windows up too.
I rarely use the sun rider option. The majority of my summer is spent with doors off and the side windows out, back window rolled up. I've got a 3 yr old that has red hair....needless to say she gets sun burn easily, so I really like having the top block the majority of the sun directly above us.
Also, those little pull pins between the roll bar and door are a pain. I keep some lanyards from name badges wrapped around them to make them easier to pull.

You want to make sure the top gets some sun before you try to put it on, it definitely makes it easier, but those side zippers can still be tight. I use the Sunrider all the time, and I love it. I leave for work at 4:00 AM, so I don't always feel like opening the top at that hour, and the Sunrider is an easy way to get some sun for the ride home. As mentioned, you need to find the strap with the hook on one end, so you can secure the folds behind your head. When you're folding the top back, make sure you pull the fold out from the hinges of the top support. There is a gap in the plastic edging of the top, right above the hinge - pull that back to create another fold. The strap ties it up nice and snug, so it doesn't bother you at all when you're driving.

Another trick with the zippers is to get some key rings and put them on the zipper pull..Much easier to zip open and shut.

I have a copy of the video that comes with the unlimited as a .wmv file. I'm not sure if they'd let me upload to youtube due to copyright issues but could make it available online for a very short time if you are interested.
edit: note that it primarily deals with the top.
