Does a RE 2" BB void the suspension warrantee? how about the OME 2 1/2" or the sway disconnects - I have the 7 year extended bumper to bumper through chrysler. anyone give me a hand?
I've got the lift bug but don't want to void it.

The budget boost could possibly affect your warranty on the suspension, but it is the easiest lift you can do, so if something went wrong with your suspension you could take the budget boost back off in 3-4hrs. The OME kit would obviously void the warranty on your suspension since you are replacing your whole suspension and as far as the sway-bars, it would only void them if you were to get sway bar disco's. The warranty is only going to be void on things that are directly effected from the lift, tires, whatever. However, many dealers will still honor your warranty, they are what we like to call "mod friendly" dealers! ;D They're out there, if you have a few dealers around your area go check them out and see how they feel about honoring the warranty even with modifications. Good Luck!

The Dealer is REQUIRED to PROVE that what you did to the vehicle caused the malfunction. This being said, obviously anything you add on is not covered by warranty.

I have seen this question on some other forums as well. It seems that some dealers will allow up to a 2 1/2" lift and 32" tires under warrenty. I agree with the info above on checking with the dealer first. I would direct my questions to the service manager. He is the one that has to do the paper work. I was toying with trading in my 04 Unlimited on a 05 Rubicon Unlimited. So I asked the service manager about doing any suspension lift at all. He said NO WAY!. The parts have to sent back to Jeep and are inspected. If they believe that the lift caused the problem he would have to try to come back and collect from the customer after the fact. For this reason he says no to all claims related to suspension lifts. I believe you are on your own with any Mods to your Jeep. But if you wait till the warrenty runs out you will never use the Jeep to it's fullest. Besides by 7 years everything is wearing out as it is. Do the lift and enjoy your Jeep.

The amount of hassle you'll encounter seems to be entirely dependent on the quality of your dealer. In my locale, there's one particular dealer whose service manager is active in one of the local Jeep clubs and he goes out of his way to cover warranty items (Ruether's Jeep in St. Louis in this case -they have a great reputation locally).
If you live in a reasonably-sized metropolitan area and have a few Jeep dealers to choose from check out your local Jeep clubs for advice on the level of service of each. Many clubs even have arrangements for club discounts on parts and service.
I think the previous poster is right in pointing out that it's incumbent on the dealer to cover items and that it's a matter of common sense, but that won't prevent them from giving you a hard time if they think they can get away with it.

Do you actually have "bumper to bumper" for 7/70? If you do, than you must have paid for it, and that changes things. Those extended warranties are usually much less flexible than the basic factory warranty. If that's the case, you'll want to tread lightly, and make sure you check everything BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT. Otherwise, the cash you paid for the warranty will be right out the window.

The 7/70 was free on my 05, it was an incentive before the employee discount days. I asked the dealer and was told I could go up to 4 inches without voiding the warranty { I asked because they had an X model on the lot with a dealer installed 4" Skyjacker and 33's}. With all that said once I install my BB and 32's this weekend, I will be mounting my stock tires on cheap steel rims. That way, if a problem occurs, I can pull the spacers, throw the stock tires on and head to the dealer.

I was wondering the same thing about adding a lift and voiding the warranty. I also was wondering about going to synthetic oil and voiding the warranty. Anyone swithed to synthetic oil yet?

Synthetic oil won't void the warranty - most dealerships will put in synthetic if you ask (and pay extra). I switched to synthetic on the fist oil change.

In addition to synthetic oil, I'm going to add a K&N air filter to try to improve mpg's. Gas has hit $3.09/gal here in Cincinnati.

The filter may help a little, but I've read very little good reviews of intake mods on the Wrangler. Most describe the modifications as snake oil. I have heard complaints about the K&N filter letting too much fine dust through, but that is probably not as much of a problem in OH as it is out west, especially in AZ.
