While where on the topic of oil filters.
Anyone have any tricks on not making a mess when removing your oil filter? Not only does oil leak out once immediately removed from the engine block, but it is trapped on my engine/tranny skid. Every time I change my oil I must run to the car wash, so I don't have the trapped oil leaking all over my driveway.

I picked up this trick from another forum.
First loosen the filter than grab a Walmart plastic bag and put it over the filter as you take if off. It will catch all the dripping oil while you are unscrewing it and than just fall into the bag. Works great.

Or you can try stuffing paper towels underneath the oil filter and it should catch the dripping oil.

Anyone run royal purple? If so, do you see an increase in hp, gas mileage, and lower engine heat? I am thinking of getting it from now on, but it is a bit pricey.

I use NAPA GOLD, made by Wix. From the testing I've seen they are the best for the money.

I usally enjoy change the oil in my rigs, grab a coffee, take my time to look things over but doing the jeep is a messy pain. Thinking of relocating the filter.
