What kind of paint should I use?

I seem to remeber a product being advertised in the Quadratec magazine. I believe it is an anti-rust / high temp type of paint.

Since 1995, I've been using a ready-to-spray product called chassis black.
Last gallon I bought was made by TekStar, IIRC, but I can't find that name online right now.
I buy it by the gallon from my local automotive paint wholesaler (the outfit that sells to/mixes for body shops)
This stuff is about $25 a gallon. It's a satin black, similar to paint for frames and axles by OEMs. Holds up well, touches up easily. It was great for my CJ frame and bumpers.
Eastwood has it for ~$35 a quart!!

Find your local automotive paint wholesaler, see what they have.
I don't spray it, I brush it on. I transfer some to a pint can, then use from that as needed.
I've used about a gallon and a half in the past 13 yrs, on a frame and various bumpers, sliders, swingouts and dozens of small parts for my old CJ.

Here's a few pics of it used on a frame repair I did on my old CJ. Note that the dirty part of the frame and the bumper were painted with the same stuff many years prior:

Thanks for the replies. Think I'll look for that product. Wilcav, I just got an issue from Quadratec but have not looked at it. Very nice rig you got there Lynn.

Thanks... sold it in July '07 after 16 yrs of fun...
Sometimes I still miss it. The guy that bought it does wheel with our group a couple times each year, so it's still around.
