Is it just me or does it seem like this site is fading?

The site is slower no doubt, thats something I noticed, but all you can do is post post post! I think part of it is , everyone is so spread out, and here on the east coast, land for wheelin' is sparse!~JN

Yea , I have noticed it as well. Seems like we all need to make an effort to post up more, even if it is not technical Jeep stuff. Maybe everyone should make an effort for the next few months to start a new thread.

I think part of it is , everyone is so spread out, and here on the east coast, land for wheelin' is sparse!~JN Land for wheeling is sparse everywhere. Here in WI, there is only one piece of public land availible to all wheelers. Consequently, it's beat up really bad. Fortunately, I belong to a club that runs the Northwoods Jeep Jamboree. We have agreements with a Forestry company and as long as we treat the land right (they're a SFI certified company) we can keep using it. But that really po's the locals that can't access it. Several of the club members have land or in the family that has some good challenges. Most of it is farm land, and that means all the rocks have been pulled from the ground and put in one area. Fortunately, I'm within 2.5 hrs of The Cliffs Insane Terrain in IL and about 4-5 hrs from the Badlands in Indiana. Still, that's a lot of driving to get some wheeling in. As far as the forum, it's getting a little slower now. I used to lurk a lot and I'm posting more than the past. Many of the boards I visit are slowing down...maybe it's the season?

I think it is a few factors. First, this forum is mostly owners that have had their rig for a few years... the initial mods have been done and now its minor upgrades here and there. Second, with the economy the way it is, not a lot of people have spare cash to feed the mod bug. I spend too much on gas as it is! Another thing is that other boards are so extensive in their depth of information - if you can get the search to work, you can get quite a bit of answers without even posting.
One of the things I like about this board is that it isn't a bunch of 16 year olds spending mom and dad's money and arguing why the other people aren't as good as they are. For the most part, people don't post just for the sake of posting. As I age and my time becomes more valuable, weeding through the other boards is too cumbersome.

It has been slow. I guess when people come home from work all they want to do is eat watch some tv and sleep cause of being tired.

Hey , Jeepnut, I was at the Northwoods Jeep Jamboree this year, were you there? They do a nice job. Went with my son in law with his stock Rubi LJ. He kept getting high centered. He got tired of everyone telling him he needs a lift. Well he has one. It's just sitting on the garage floor waiting to be put in

NorthWoods Jeep Jamb? I have not heard of it in my area. High centered huh? Thats when everyone had to sit on the tail, and give it some goose. ~JN

I'm blessed to be able to go so many places around here. I can head any direction and get off the paved road and play. There's Red Sands, Surfers, The SAC, Clint, The Wall @ Santa Teresa, New Mexico which is 20 minutes away from where I live in El Paso. Las Cruces, New Mexico is half an hour away and they hold the Chili Challenge every year. Guess living in Far West Texas has its advantages when it comes to 4 wheelin.

I think jeepguy hit the nail on the head, at least for me. Time change and weather changing here in Southern Il . I'm more a summer guy and tend to hybernate in winter. When I was on 4x4 website earlier last month checking on tires for the TJ, I ordered their free catalog. It came the other day... I am officially taking donations so I can fill all the ideas I get from the catalog..lol

I agree. One of the reasons I started the JK thread was just to see if it would spark some people back into posting, though I admit I have been bad about it as well. I still check the forum everyday, but there have been few threads that I have wanted to jump into.
Maybe it's the weather, maybe its the economy, but I tend to agree with the idea that it has just been the time. Mid 2005 was the peak of the LJ.
We kind of talked about it before, but what about putting together some sort of Wranglerunlimited sponsored get together or Jamboree of sorts? Might be an east coast, central or west coast one?

I always found this site to be a little slow, and I was here almost from the start. I did kinda drift away for a while, but I've been checking in more lately. I've just lifted my Wrangler, and put some decent tires on it. Now that my Scrambler is going down for some serious rehab, I'll be spending more time wheeling the Wrangler, so I'll probably have more to say.
