Well folks, my buddy traded in the Wrangler Unlimited after only about 3 weeks of ownership. He said the gas mileage was killing him plus the sportiness of the vehicle lacked in his opinion. He traded it in for a 2005 Wrangler Sport and he lost his shirt so to speak but doesnt seem to care. Must be nice.... Its a shame. Oh well, at least he still bought another Wrangler. Rich....

Should have posted it for sale on JU or other Jeep site....at least he wouldn't have lost his shirt so much....
I love the sportiness of mine....just hate DC's crappy paint job....

Whats JU? I hear ya. The only thin I would like to do to mine is take off the chrome tailite guards that it came with. Ill probably take the chrome grill off as well and go with the black grille and keep the chrome tube bumpers. Rich

I still cant believe he traded it in. He said he felt like it wasnt sporty enough for him and it didnt feel like a real jeep which is totally ridiculous. It is a real jeep just a longer wheelbase thats all. He took a big hit to get out of it as well.

Well...some people change cars more than they change their underwear...either way you do it...you're still losing your shorts!!!
I'll be driving mine until the wheels fall off!!!

wow, 3 weeks I'd feel guilty as you know what- whatever type of car it was.. to each their own though. I'm also one of those 'drive it till the wheels fall off' type of people

Mee too. Im planning on driving my jeep unlimited until the wheels fall off as well. my only complaint about this vehicle is the horrendous gas mileage i am getting on it. It is a 2004 with 2,900 miles on it. When is the breakin period over? and is there something I can do to improve the gas mileage of the 4.0. Im getting 12 city, 14 highway. Rich..

Sounds about right. Mixed driving I get around 14 to 15 mpg. No matter to me...if I wanted good mileage I'd be driving a Civic.

Yeah... Id like to get at least 16 or 17. Dealer said after breakin i should average 15 city, 17 highway which is cool. Cant wait to get the doors off this baby and take it on a country road. I hear thats the ultimate with a jeep. A hot Wawa coffee, a cigarette and doors off at night. I love this vehicle. Rich..

I know. I think he is much too impulsive as well. He is bringing his new Wrangler Sport over to my place today so I can check it out. I just think he didnt give the Unlimited a chance. The Unlimited definitely has a better ride than my 95 Wrangler S had. He did say on the phone that the Wrangler Sport is a little bouncier than the Unlimited. He did say he got clobbered by the dealer as well. Lost a lot of money trading in the Unlimited so quickly. He will be kicking himself when he has to go christmas shopping or has to go to home depot and cant take home somethinig because of the lack of cargo space in the regular wrangler. Rich

My buddy made it over to my place first thing this morning to show me his brand new jeep wrangler sport. Its definitely nice .... He said its bumpier than his unlimited was but hey thats what jeeps are all about. he lost 2,800 on the trade in... ouch!!!!!!!!!!! but said he didnt give a damn as he feels its a much sportier looking wrangler and better looking jeep as well. Hey, thats his opinion. Me, im happy with my 2004 black jeep wrangler unlimited. to each his own...... hopefully he will hold onto this one for a while. the one thing i did notice was that his jeep wrangler sport did not have a cd player in his. thought they came standard on jeep wranglers... His new wrangler is red with a beautiful tan soft top. automatic with air as well which is rare also. Have a great day everyone. Rich..

Cool....glad he's happy I suppose....must be nice to have throw away cash like that (maybe he can send my way and I'll use it on the lift, the filter, the bumpers, new tires...LOLOLOL) JU I was refering to was JeepsUnlimited.com. If you haven't been there, they got plenty of info on all Jeeps and there's a good amount of LWB info in the TJ section as well.. BTW, my 05 gets around 15.5 MPG with standard suburbia driving and only has about 1k miles on it. Thought I'd pass along... Agreed on the chrome. I wanted the higher end Unlimited myself (at least all the options) but really disliked the chrome grill. So I went searching and found one with the same options minus the chrome grill and fancier seat fabric on a base model Unlimited.....so I got the options like CD player, A/C, auto, even that nice rearview mirror with the compass...now to figure out how to pay for the mods... BTW, in case any of you would like your fog lights to work with your headlights on highbeam, here are two easy mods: www.wanderingtrail.com/Buildup/Fog%20Light%20Defeat.htmwww.getahelmet.com/jeeps/tech/fogrelay/I did the first one and it was real easy!!!!
