I have someone giving me a set of Rubicon flares.....I was wondering if anyone had a picture of a set of those on a patriot blue tj??
I think they'll be a help because they're wider, but since they're black instead of khaki, I wanted to see what they would look like.
Thanks

Thanks a lot jeepguylj....it does look good. They are a bit scuffed up, but no cracks. I just wanted to compare to the khaki ones I have now:

No problem nfunlimited anytime. I think you should get them plus they wont fade in the sun likes the ones you have on. I have already replaced mine cause it faded in the sun went from black to grey.

I never thought about the fading......we don'te get a lot of sun, but I guess it will happen eventually. Why is it the Rubicon ones wont fade?

They're painted black. Regular ones like mine are textured and I'm not sure how they're colored but they'll fade, especially over a few years. Turn a chalky grey.
*EDIT* Also I thought I read that the paint on the RUBI flares was like a UV protectent paint but then the regular flares have no UV protection so they fade in the sun.

I thought they may be painted since it looked like they were chipping a bit. My new plan is to paint them Khaki with Krylon fusion plastic paint. I'll let you know what happens.

Looks good....thanks for the pics. Where did you get the sliders??? Cassidy's?? haven't heard of them.
Also, did you just paint over the rubi flares, or prep them at all??
How is the paint holding up?? I was thinking of using bedliner spray, but I'm not sure if its flexible enough.

Cassidy's Customs: www.cassidyscustom.com/index.htmlA bit north/east of Baltimore, MD, near Belair. Jeremy owns the business; he does nice work. His LJ sliders are not on his website yet. On the Rubi flares... they were Rubi/Sahara flares, so they were painted at the factory... I gave them a light scuff sand and an alcohol wipe, then shot them with that Krylon for plastics in Satin Black. Holding up fine so far to snow/ice/salt, haven't taken them on tight trails with lots of branches... I'll get to that about the middle of May. Some guys like the bedliner spray. I wanted something that gave me a close match to the black satin powdercoat on my bumpers/sliders. The Krylon was a good match. From all the posts I've read here and at JU and JF, the Krylon holds up good for a couple years, then they might need resprayed. Newfie, what shock extensions are you running. I was thinking Teraflex rear shock mount relocators to get about an inch more travel out of my 9000XLs. Thanks!

Thanks......I think the krylon black is the route I am going. As for the shock extensions...I got them at rocky road...although they look like they woul dbe easy to fabricate. www.rocky-road.com/jeepbpe.htmlActually they call them Bar pin eliminators...and it is hard to remove the stock barpin....we heated the rubber, and pressed them out. They let me run the stock shocks witht eh 2" BB

I purchased some JKS bar pin eliminators that I wanted to use with the OME shocks. I saw a write-up on how to do this due to JKS saying it would not fit properly ( it will work). Well I got the new style OME's and the pins are sort of molded to the rubber bushings, almost ripped the the bushing. I stopped right there and stuck them on a shelf. Going to us them when I change shocks or might just end up selling them(?). So if you got the OME shocks (new) just beware. Anyway nfunlimited, I got my BFG 33/10.50' A/T's to use with the stock rims, ( I like your set up). So how much do the tires stick out? Do ya got a pic showing it? I have the panited flares on my LJ and if memory is right, I think they are alittle over 4". Thanks.

I haven't installed the ruby flares yet, and for the winter I run 29" studded tires (looks really funny). As for the 33x10.5's on the stock rims, they don't stick out much. I don't want to use spacers b/c I like the narrow stance, so I am willing to give up a bit of turning raduius.
If I had to guess, I think they stick out 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch. A bit more on one side due to the axles being off-center.
