Hey Guys,
I'm hope this is in the right forum. I'm currently looking to buy the OME 2.5 inch suspension for my LJ and have been shopping around the internet for the best pricing. If you look around the net and add up the cost of the individual components, I.e. springs, bumpstops etc... why does the OME suspension systems you can buy from DPG or Swiss Mountain 4x4 cost dramatically more than if you piece meal it out?
Am I missing components that are not included if I where to buy the individual components?
Here is a list:
Springs Front- 64.95 Springs Rear- 64.95 Bump stop spacers- 16.95 Rear track bar bracket- 16.95 Trasfer case bracket- 64.95 Trim Spacers front- 19.95 Trim Spacers rear- 25.64 Shocks front and rear- 275.95
Even if you add another set of bumpstop spacers (I'm not sure if the ones on the website are just front or all four, the total comes out to $567.24. I must be missing something as the price of the kit is $650.00.
Can shed some light as to why?
Thanks in advance,
Pete

I think the major "error" in your math is that you're only allotting for the price of one front spring and one rear spring. That will make up for $130 and get you back up to the kit prices being more economical than putting it together piece by piece. There is no way that you can get both front springs or both rear springs for $65. Just for comparison's sake, if you go to www.rustysoffroad.com you will find that a set of front springs will set you back $110 for the pair.

Yep....check out the price for a pair of front springs!
I would just call DPG and ask them. I've heard alot of good things about them! Much better than what I've heard about swiss mountain!

Just to let you know. I have the lift you are looking at and its great. I bought the transfer case drop kit, and did not need it. The LJ's don't often need it because of the longer wheel base. I put my lift on and checked for vibs and there were non. You just lose 3/4" of clearance by useing it if you don't need it. Just my 2 cents worth.

Did you have enough room to fit the 32 inch tires? I see you have the ACO spacers, I assume you used this to level the jeep out in the front? How did you like the ride? Any negatives to this lift? I love the ride of this lift. The ACOS levels everything nicely. The weight of the winch and bumper cost me about 3/4". If you are thinking of doing the same you may want to add some poly spacers up front when you do the install. I just saves you pulling it all apart and adding them later. The ACOS are real nice but pricey.
