has this happened to any of you guys?
Last weekend i went up to the lake with some buddies and the Jeep ran perfectly like always. Pulled into the gas station to get some refreshments, didn't get gas. Restart the Jeep and it is stuttering. Engine malfunction light comes on. BTW i have an auto. I put it in drive and pull around the parking lot a little bit. The Jeep does a little bucking almost like the trany is slipping. Luckly i was pretty close to a Jeep dealership so i just dropped it off at the night drop.
Dealership calls me Monday morning and tells me that it didn't take them long to figure out that it was the fuel injection. I was almost 100% that it was the TPS. They order the part but it wont get there till Thursday. Well today is Friday and i just got off the phone with the dealership. They got the part but it didn't fix the problem. Apparently there is a misfire on #2. They checked the plugs and wires. All seems to be good. Compression testing is where we are now. I'll let y'all know how it pans out.
And to boot, apparently Chrysler doesn't do loaner cars. The service rep at the dealership is going to talk to his manager and see if he can hook me up Monday if they're still clueless about whats wrong.
I'm seriously depressed here in Georgia. Been sweating balls here all summer and the last two days it has been breezy and in the 80s. Perfect Jeepin' weather.

Just to give you guys an update, i got my Jeep back Saturday from the dealership. They put a new coil pack in and its running like new. I drive for 60 miles around town for a few hours running errands and it starts doing the same thing again. Take it back to the dealership. Now it is mis-firing on multiple cylinders. Service rep calls me and asks if i put gas in it this weekend because it smells funny, not like gasoline he says. "no, i only had it for 5 hours and it had a 1/2 tank in it. They drop the tank, drain it and put in new gas. Mechanic says it is almost running worse now than with the original gas. ?? They are still scratching their heads about it as of now.

That is crazy!
I my guess is that there is a sensor bad or the computer is screwed up - but I would imagine the dealership would catch that...
Have them replace it with a Hemi!

Holy crap! I too would have thought it was bad gas but that would be too easy of a solution. It sure has me scratching my head and I feel for ya pal. And only 17K. Wow.

ok....another update. Service rep called me last night and says that they have it fixed once again. He said they kept running it on the new gas and it progressively got better and better. They drove it 12 miles and he said it was running good. Went up to pick it up. Dropped of the Commander that they loaned me. I was really ready to get out of that monster and back into my LJ. Drove home and into work today (40 miles) with no problems so far (knock on wood). The best part was, they didn't charge me a dime. ?? I wouldn't think bad gas would be covered under warranty. I wasn't going to question it. I talked to my buddy that is a tech over at the ford dealership and he said that they get alot of cars and trucks coming in with bad gas. I hope this has fixed it.

It wasn't e85 fuel was it? You have to watch out for those pumps. I didn't even think of that. We really dont see much of that here in Georgia. Pretty sure it was a regular pump though

We had a problem like that here in Montgomery the other day. The wholesaler did not replace the cap when he filled up the gas station tanks and they got filled with rainwater. Screwed up a lot of cars but the station payed for all the repairs.
