Hey everyone, I have had my 2006 unlimited in to the shop 4 times now having tires balanced & rotated and the last visit had a 4 wheel alignment done. I have had a bad vibration in the front end since about 10k miles and now on 14k and have had to have the rotors turned because they have warped because of this problem and all I get from the shops I have gone to is that the tires are all balanced and everything is in perfect working order. Has anyone had this same problem. I'm losing my mind or this issue. thanks

Is it stock or lifted?
Does the vibe happen all the time or only when accelerating or turning, or etc. ?

I'm running the stock 30" GY Wrangler tires and suspension. The vibration is more noticeable at highway speeds 45 to 55.

Sorry I should answer your question a little better. The vibration is for the most part constant, but not so noticeable at lower speeds but at highway speeds is very noticeable to where the steering wheel and everything else in the rig is vibrating.

I'd be willing to bet it's a tire issue. Do you know someone else with a Jeep you can switch tires with for a test drive. If their tires run smooth you have the problem with your set of rims or tires. If nothing changes it's in the suspension. Never heard of the rotor problem being caused by a vibration. Jeep has crappy rotors. Next time upgrade to some better after market ones and save yourself that hassle. Also if you have an automatic mine always has a slight vib at 45-50 . Seems to be tied into the trans shifting when the overdrive is on. It sort of lugs. Try turning the overdrive off when running up to speed. Let us know what happens.

Thanks for the heads up on the rotors. The dealership was trying to get me to buy new ones and if they have crappy ones then i would just be right back to that problem again. As far as your suggestion for the tires I think I see in my near future a new set of tires and rims, of course a quality lift will have to be in order too. I have not been impressed with the GY wrangler tires at all. The spare on the back was brand new and no matter how many times that was balanced (4 to be exact) the tire always shook to the point i couldn't drive with it on the vehicle. Lucky for me the wife loves the jeep and will be driving it allot so she will be glad to flip that bill just as long as she gets her turn at the wheel. Anyway thanks for the advice and keep your Jeep right side up.

ok tires balanced, and alignment done, have you checked the steering linkages for any play? Is it just a vibration or full blown death wobble? You might also want to check for play in your ball joints. 1. Jack you your rig 2. grab a 12 o clock and 6 and see if there's any play 3. do the same with your hands at 3 and 9 o'clock and see if there's play there
if so then your ball joints need replacing.
