I was wandering if you had a specific forum for people to post up things they want to sell. I saw the classifieds forum. I was looking for a vendor type forum. If so please let me know the rules.
I don't have an off-road parts company. I was the product designer for Blue Torch Fabworks, Inc. in Alabama before they moved to a bigger city. I would never sell any of the same products that they do.
I do have an '05 Unlimited that I have been designing and making my own parts for. I have a local laser shop cut and bend the parts for me. They are interested in doing some work with me on a little larger scale.
I have already worked out the design for a tummy tucker for an Unlimited (or TJ) with a body and motor lift. I have a design for a winch plate that works nicely with the stock front bumper. Also have an automatic transmission skid almost worked out (prototype is installed on my LJ). Got a gas tank skid in the works. I will be starting on high clearance bumpers very soon.
I am not designing my parts to be the heavy 1/4" thick plate parts that other companies are selling. Most companies just make their parts as thick as the other guys as a selling point. I am designing parts for daily drivers (that have to get decent mileage to and from work) that see weekend trail duty.
Please let me know the correct course of action to list some things you guys may be interested in.
Here is a rendering of my tummy tucker and tranny pan skid. It is all made from 3/16" steel plate. The bottom of the skid is 2" below the frame. That saved me 2 1/2" on my belly height.
