Hey guys! I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 25 years old, got my bachelor's degree at University of TN in mathematics, my master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University, and now work in South Carolina as an engineer for an engineering firm.
I've been fourwheeling/building offroad rigs (broncos and jeeps) since i was about 16 and have loved every minute of it.
My current vehicles include:
-74 Bronco w/ 3.5" james duff long arm lift, 4.88's, detroits front and rear, dana 44 front, 9" rear, 36" iroks, and a mildly build 351W (which replaced the 302).
-2008 F250 Superduty ext cab 4x4 w/ 6.4l Diesel (my personal/tow rig)
recently broke up w/ g/f who had just bought an 06' Unlimite rubicon... of which i purchased and installed a 4.5" RE LA lift, 35" MTR's, and 4.56 gears for... things just didn't work out.. and she got to keep all the goodies i got her (which sucked)!!
SO... i've budgeted and started saving to purchase my own 2006 Unlimited Rubicon (silver or kahaki) and should have enough saved by Dec or Jan to purchase the one i want.. Dual tops, and manual tranny (6 speed) are a must.
Anyways, just wanted to say hi.. and i'm a huge unlimited fan, know quite a bit about them, and the aftermarket available for them, and i'm chomping at the bit to purchase my own.. Can't wait... Hope to see you guys soon! Everyone here has some really nice rigs!
Luke

Welcome to the forum.....it always sucks to let a good Jeep get away. Good luck in your hunt for another one.

it's even worse when you've spent upwards of $4,000 and your labor to install these parts.. and get nothing out of it when you let it go... but, oh well... i'll find another one soon and it'll be mine this time!

Sounds like in the long run you saved thousands. Later you lose half your stuff. Might have been a good investment if you know what I mean.

welcome! Moneypit hit it right on the head. Ironically, when we bought my LJ, my salesman asked me if we wanted my wifes name on the paperwork. TO that she responded jokingly...."Why, this is Wisconsin, half is mine anyway" we all got a good laugh.
