Wider, longer, and 4-door. Isn't that what the Cherokee is for? Why don't they just make a supercrew duelie?
The only words that excited me about that story were "Hemi" and "5-speed auto".
The Krauts are going to ruin the Wrangler. I'm glad I got mine while they're still Wranglers.

Oh, I don't know. A 4 door soft top might be cool. I'd have to see it & drive it before I pass judgement. It would definitely open up the Unlimited market to families. Just my 2 cents...

Any wider than what it is would be a bad idea. I was on some trails yesterday where I only had a couple inches of clearance on each side of the Jeep going between trees. I'm sure it will look "cool", but it's going to be too dang big to be a real "off road Jeep". This new rig will be more of a mall crawler...easier and more comfortable for the soccer moms... It will be the replacement of the Liberty... but, it's yet to be seen, so I could be full of crapola.

Is that a concept, or a custom? There is an outfit that has been selling a 4 door Wrangler for a few years now. There will be a 4 door, but there are all sorts of different stories about the 2007. Expect the base Wrangler to be a bit wider, and have a couple inches more wheelbase. The 4.0 will be gone, as will the Dana axles. I would not bet on a Hemi, I just don't see that in the Wrangler line.

At the beginning of the summer, I went to an automotive survey in Rosemont. They had the '07 Wrangler, and a 4-door version of the same Wrangler, and the Gladiator was there also.
There were no drivetrain in these Jeeps. So I can't comment on axles, engines, etc. From what I've heard, AMC, (I think that's it!?....), will be doing the axles, (No more Dana), and the 3.7L will be the powerplant of the new Wrangler. Not sure if a Hemi is an option BUT, it should be!!!
The Jeeps were wider, a little more aerodynamic, (but still Jeepy), and looked good. I was going to wait until the '07's came out to get a new Jeep BUT, the Rubi Unlimited was calling my name!!!

from what I heard, i'll try to find the link - there's an all new 3.8 v6 going in the 07's. there'll be a 2dr similar to the unlimited, and a 4dr extended. both will have dual top options, but the new tops will have a targa/t-tops (it's a targa top, but comes off in two peices - i'm jealous). gas tank has been moved to the passenger side due to federal safety regs, so the muffler goes up into the back end (say goodbye). rumors of an integrated hitch option. no diesel is going to be offered for american markets, but they will be exported, which gives us hopes of a backwards compatible swap. also, there looks to be creature comforts such as integrated nav. sat radio options, power windows/locks while still maintaining external hinges (doors should still be removeable)

Seems like the pictures that folks have seen of the 4 door have been of the new "Patriot" which is the replacement of the Liberty... I don't think we've seen any inkling of what the new Wrangler will look like...heck, what if they didn't call it a Wrangler anymore??? I've got my Jeep, unless it's stolen or totalled, I won't need to get another one.

That Link you put up...you know what it looks like...an old Ambulance truck from the Korean War...I can almost hear the Mash Theme song playing in my head. Not sure if I am fond of it so far... MIght I Digress On one of the other Sites there was a couple posts about a new model coming out under the wrangler line in 2008, Heard it's supposed to be a either a huge diesel or a Hemi with all the fixins. Haven't heard much about it outside the boards though. I also herad they might be talking about getting rid or changing the names of the Unlimited and the Rubicon. Seems weird to me, I feel like they have been seeing alot more unlimiteds and rubicons on the road then I used to. I mean like 2 - 5 years back all you saw was saharas and sports, but now I feel like they are being bought up much more quickly. Have you guys heard anyhting???

I am confused. Does coloradojeeper01 own an Unlimited?
His buddy nominated him for Unlimited of the Month.
He better watch it with the poser shots...that can ruin an LJ frame to have that much flex in the suspension...it isn't good for the...umm...flux capacitor.
