www.thecarconnection.com/Auto_News/Daily_Edition/Daily_Edition_Sept_30-Oct_3_2005.S173.A9375.htmlClick on the pic to get a bigger version. Solidifies the rumor that the days of the open tub are gone. Looks like the front has panels that come off, T-Top style (check out the solid b-pillar). Not too bad. Solid axles, definitely identifiable as a Wrangler, body-on-frame, and not much larger than an Unlimited. All the articles I've read insist that the front-end is basically straight off the Gladiator concept -which is a good thing in my opinion. One question this pic poses for me, though: where'd they stick the fuel tank?

I will wait and see. It should be at the Chicago Auto show I hope. There has been so much talk about the new style. I hope they don't ruin it.

At a guess, the fuel tank will be in between the frame rails located opposite the cat (Traditional truck style). Not so sure about the muffler location as it a great place to get a crushed muffler. Hopefully, we'll get a glimpse of it at the DC auto show but I doubt it.

I see some minor improvements... You can't see the "shovel" t-case skid (or anything sticking out from the belly), the control arm mounts are a little more flush to the frame, and there's still a lot of clearance over those tires.
Kinda looks like the H3 in my opinion. The windsheild angle should reduce wind noise and help gas mileage. Not sure how the top will work - may be easier to put up/down, but I am sure it won't be as much fun as having the top/doors off the current style.
Wonder if those are functional rock slider/steps or just for looks...
