The official press release is out there, I pulled this from jeepin.com. It is amazing how much whining about this car has gone on for the last year, when nobody had even seen it. To me, it looks just like it should look - an updated version of the Wrangler. I'm not crazy about the front fenders, but that won't keep me from wanting one. www.jeepin.com/news/07wrangler/ |

I haven't heard any whining around here.... they did the right thing with this redesign.
The 3.8L V-6 is a better fit than the 3.7 found in the Liberty, the specs are beyond reproach. It looks like a Wrangler.
I drove Cherokees for ten years (my last one from '99), and was greatly disappointed in the Liberty. I had some doubts about what they were going to do with the Wrangler platform but I have to say this looks like it's a worthy successor right out of the gate. I'll be considering the four-door for my wife. Good job, DCX....

I definitely love it - it's a jeep, true to the name. things I can critique are what looks like a HUGE blind spot trying to see anywhere outside of the back end, esp. with the headrests in the back. Plus, the engine needs to hit 4k to peak torque, which isn't bad but we have the 4.0. what's up with the V6 taking 6qts of oil though? seriously how many dopes do you think will throw the usual 4 in and call it a day.
I'm super jealous of the modular hardtop - and someone should DEFINITELY tell mopar to make one to retrofit on to ours

that jeep so cool. only had my unlimited for 8 months, and now i think it's totally crap. I'm going to be jealous when i see someone driving one. all kinds of neat features. 3 piece roof. electric windows and doors. nav system. advance multi stage air bags. electronics stability program.(ESP) electronics roll mitigation. occupation classification system (OCS).does this mean i can put my 3 year child in the front seat now.it deploys according to your weight.wow seat mounted airbags. electronic front stabilizer bar. Sirius radio. ABS brakes.etc,etc,etc. way to cool. check the web it has everything about the 2007 wrangler and i mean everything.. go to www.jeepin.com and intro you'll see your going to wish you had one.......well i guess I'll have wait 3 more years till mines paid. maybe by then they'll come out with a more advance style again,"coooooooool".   |

I see they've increased the torsional stiffness of the frame by 100%. Maybe they won't bend so easily...
