I just picked up a set up bestop soft half door lowers. anyone have the full soft door set? are the lowers the same? any ideas on either fabing an upper just for rainy days (I plan on sporting the softies all summer), or do you have some that I can buy?
if anyone's got pics of how the uppers go on the lower half softies, please let me know.
thanks fellas

does anyone have a set of the molded bestop half doors? I was looking at them and wondering about the benefits of having an armrest on the the molded half doors vs. being able to slip the soft half doors under a seat.
Comments?

I don't know, I can't decide either. I would like to get some half doors and definately won't be paying the HIGH $$ for the OEM steel half doors. I too like the bestop molded half doors, but I like the price of the soft doors! I kind of like the benifits of being able to add the hard upper sliders to the molded doors so that you can essentially have full hard doors that can be taken apart easily.

I've looked at the soft half doors too. From what I've heard, soft uppers on soft lowers isn't a great set-up. They don't seal up very well, and the flap around like crazy... I haven't experienced it for myself...but that's what I've heard. I'll be getting the soft lowers this Spring. If it rains, I'll put the hard doors back on... no big deal.

yea chad, that's what it's gonna be for me too - if I'm out while it starts raining - it's either the trail cover or some wetness. . . . if it's nice enough to have the half doors on, it's nice enough to get a little damp.

Yeah, see where I live we hardly ever get just little rain showers or anything. It's either nice out, or it's storming with a chance of tornado's! So the molded doors with the hard slider's would nice for me, but I do like how easy the soft doors and soft uppers would be to store, etc. But, I won't be in the market for these for a while.....

They do flap around like crazy, especially at Highway speeds. The seal is adequate but, could be better. My brother let me borrow his once in awhile and the biggest downfall is the flapping and sealing issue. Don't get me wrong, they don't let lots of rain but, you get some wetness & drips here or there. And the fact that you have soft half doors when you want them & full soft doors when you need them, is very nice. I would only buy a "full" set of soft doors and not just the half-soft doors. (the ones I've seen for sale like this, do not allow an upper section unless you purchase a "full" set). I bought a used set of gray half doors from a buddy for nothing, and painted them black with a black, fabric, spray paint. They look awesome and saved me lots of money. If I had to do it over again though, I wish I would've saved my money for a "full" set of soft doors. It's just nice to have the ability to cover the whole door opening in the case of sudden rains, etc.

as soon as it's nice enough to put them on, i'll see about making a clear vinyl curtain and a way to secure it. it'll at least keep you damp instead of wet. after I figure it all out with a vinyl roll and some grommets, i'll for sure post the plans for those of you with only the half door option.
