Well, it was sort of official but now it is officially official (as in they got my money now), the Jeep is on the way. Delivery date is 16 FEB.
Decided to wait it out a little bit and I think the high gas prices helped me get an even better deal. Wound up saving $4500 on a 2006 Unlimited H package with sirius, steps, and locking gas cap for $23,400 straight from the factory.
I am so excited that I am probably going to puke sometime here in the near future.
Hope all is going well for everyone. Still love the site. When I get to check the internet, I look up my email and this site. Humor, drama, Jeeps, this site has it all.

Congratulations! 16 Feb???!!! Oh, man. I still have a way to go to be ready to even order one. But, I had visions of a six week wait... sigh... Good luck with it, Here's hoping there are no delays! cheers.

Outstanding! This is a long wait, but more importantly, you'll be home before this. Stay alert and get home safe. The trails eagerly await you and your new rig.

I ordered a dark beryl Green one with the black soft top and dark slate gray interior. I originally wanted the dark khaki top and interior but unless you upgrade to a Rubicon or down grade to an E package they won't give it to you. Seems wierd to me, but whatever. Rubicon is too much for what I am going to do with it and I wasn't about to give up all the options for brown seats.
Don't mind the wait all that much as I can't use it anyway. It would just sit in the driveway until I got back. Hope to be home right as it gets there, but the way things change around here that is a hard one to judge. Orginally they had the delivery date as 3 APR which would have killed me. I guess 16 FEB is the best date they could get so it works for me, but for anyone ordering from the factory I guess that does translate to a 3 month wait. I am going through the overseas program so it might work out quicker those in the states.
If I can figure it out, I can attach the quote for anyone wanting to see all the other hidden charges and mark ups the dealers throw at you. With this program, they have to disclose everything.
By the way, ordered the entire thing on line, sight unseen. Talk about nerve racking. I am not even totally sure what it is going to look like. I got the premium paint with matching fender flares and so far I have only seen Jeeps with the black flares. I hope it doesn't look like cr*p.
Look forward to posting pictures when I get back (which is now officially forever from now, because I swear time just stopped).

I prefer the black flares, but the painted ones have their advantages...particularly, no fading. The body colored flares on a dark Jeep actually look really nice. I think you will be happy with them. And if you don't like them, there are probably dozens of sets on eBay to be had for a song. Glad to hear you will be back soon. Stay vigilant.

I don't know about the flares, but that Beryl Green color is MAGNIFICENT! That will be my color, as well. I just love that color.
I'm so jealous. Just had yet another set-back on ordering... sigh.

Great news wilcav, now just be careful, just make sure you appear to be more excited to see your girl than the Jeep when you get back!!!!

You know, I made that mistake already with the wife. I was telling her how I can't wait to get back and roll around in the new Jeep. Which led into a lecture about being excited to see the family, kids, wife, etc.
I am, of course, excited to see them as well but I had a lot of back pedaling to do after that comment.
I can't wait to tell her about all the modifications I want to do now. Vacation or 33s, body lift and a swing away tire holder with Jerry cans?
By the way, the Jeep is being processed through offices in Dubai. Never thought I would process anything through Dubai. Wierd.

I wouldn't worry too much, once the Jeep arrives and she starts driving it or riding around in it she will be just as excited as you, especially when the weather warms up.
