It's been awhile since I've been on the forum, I sold my Unlimited but I know that this seems to be a good group of people. I am an active member of our local jeep club, the Northern Virginia Jeepers Association. Our club president's 4 year old son has just been diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. All of this has happened in the last 5 days!
Here is the message he posted on our forums:
"Heys guys, thanks for the kind words. They really mean alot. Patrick's MRI came out with not so great news. They were able to measure the mass as basically being the size of your standard flip style cell phone. There are a few other small pieces that are actually attached to the brain. He had surgery today around 4pm and got out around 8pm. They went in to get a piece of the tumor to do a byopse(sp?) and to put in a shunt... which is a way to drain the fluid out of his brain into his stomach. The tumor is blocking the passenge of fluid to his spine. This will solve that issue until the piece comes back from the patholgist. From there they will know how to treat it. He says that it looks as if he will need kemo (sp?) or radiation (sp?) to get rid of the small pieces. He is also hoping that some of the tumor will flow down the shunt and into his stomach so the kemo or rad. treatments will kill it first time around. Apparently it takes alot more to get stuff from inside of the skull.
We should know more on Wed. about furthering the treatments to get rid of it. At this time he does give Patrick a 50/50 chance... which I am willing to play those odds."
You can find out more information on Patrick by going to www.carepages.com. You have to sign up with a username and password and search for PMStowell. It will pull up his picture and daily updates along with a message board. I know that you all don't know me or this family very well......but I do know that jeepers are very caring people.
Please say lots of prayers for this family. Details are being worked out to set up a bank account for the family's finances as they have a long, expensive road ahead of them.
Please email me at blugirl_92054@yahoo.com if you have any questions, concerns.....
I appreciate this so much!
