I'm going to take some pics of how I mounted them tomorrow. But, basically I just sandwiched the frame with two 3/8" pieces of plate steel. One piece I welded to the mounts I made and the other piece I put on the inside of the frame and bolted to two together with six 3/8" 5-grade bolts. I made 2 brackets for each rock rail. They don't flex or budge. The Hi-Lift test was cool to do. Lifted the whole Jeep up using the rails and they didn't even move.
Yeah, the bumpers will be heavy. But I won't go too crazy with them. I think for the rear bumper/tire carrier I am going to use a design similar to the Grant 4x4 rear tire carrier where the 2 Jerry cans are mounted in between the tailgate and spare. Probably just use 1 1/2" square tubing for the carrier. The rear bumper I'm going to kind of fab up similar to the Hanson rear bumper. Probably do the front similar to a Hanson as well. I've got to start drawing some stuff up and figuring out how I'll mount those as well.
I am from Oklahoma. The total cost of materials was probably about $60. Thats the good thing about having an uncle with lots of equipment for me to use, and a local steel company that seperates the "good stuff" from the "not as good stuff". Bought 500lbs. of steel for $95....

Excellent. I'm going to borrow some of that idea, and modify my shroks.
