Especially when you have a trail to ride on! I'm jealous.

Especially when you have a trail to ride on! I'm jealous. x2 It must be nice to be so close to trails. I suppose that I have options. I could move... or buy property to wheel on... I suppose I could just complain and do nothing about it, that's kind of my style

Ok Gentlemen(?), We are blessed out here in that area and I have to admit that it took a few comments from another post saying, how far they had to go and even pay to go wheeling. Now you guys chime in, sometimes I guess you don't know what you have till it's pointed out to you. I thinking about moving back east awhile back and was just telling the wife how blessed we are here. Come on out you guys got a place to stay and the wheeling is close. THANKS......

That is gorgeous. I used to live in CO and now I am in KY. There is a HUGE difference between both places. Doesn't seem like there is anywhere to go around here unless I travel for a few hours. Reminds me of Fort Irwin (near Victorville) which I always thought I would want to wheel.

Exactly the location, it's off the 247 heading towards Big Bear. The photo "view" pic is pointing in that direction, Calico would be off to the left out of the pic.

Great pics Timmy. That sure is a different kind of trail than I'm accustomed to in Pennsylvania... tight two-track trails in the woods with trees tha grab your windshield frame/mirrors/flares, deep mud holes full of stinky muck, stream crossings.... I'd enjoy your trails for awhile, but I'd miss the east coast woods wheelin. I'll start a thread with some pics of where we go to show the contrast

The weather sure looks nice in those pics. Now that Christmas is over I'm ready for spring. I do most of my wheelin in the mountains, and they're full of snow until spring. You really do have a good thing going with trails that are close to your house. Nice pics!

Thanks, we are going to the mountains again this weekend for some snow riding. We do have some nice weather in the winter to trail ride, the only down fall is the summer. It's too &^%( hot. It'll get around 110 to 115 some days. That's no fun there, so we go to the moutains to cool off. The heat only lasts a couple of months, but it sure makes up for itself later on....

It has been awhile but I remember that heat well. Nothing like sitting in a 70 ton chunk of metal when it is 115 degrees out. I have never been there during the winter but I hear it can get pretty cold. I have another 18 months or so until I make it back to an operational unit, but your pictures are making me consider the 11 ACR again.

Yes it can and does get cold in the winter, nothing like up north. But when it gets down in the 30's & 40's and the wind gets around 25+, man I shiver just at the thought of it. I'll get some more pictures up soon.
