Hey guys/gals!
I'm stuck in the southeastern part of VA (flat farm country) with no real legal wheelin'. At least it's not legal unless you know the local farmers. Just about all we have is mud and sand, no rocks to speak of. My family and I are looking to spend a weekend out in the western part of the state (or we could go for Maryland or North Carolina) with the Jeep.
I'm looking for trails that can be accomplished semi-stock (I'm running 31" tires - no lift yet) just to get us into the woods for a couple of hours.
Thanks!

It depends on what part of western Virginia you are going to be visiting - if you are in the Harrisonburg area I beleive there are quite a few trails out Route 33 towards WV, if you are in the northwestern section there are some trails up in the GW National Forest - Lee District {http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/gwj/}. I don't know much about the southern section but I have to believe down around Blacksburg and Roanoke there are plenty of mountain roads to play on. If you want to go someplace to specifically go wheeling for a weekend, you might try Tellico - www.tellico4x4.com/tellico_info_main.php - I've never been there myself but I hear its a lot of fun!

Also, there is always Camp Jeep this summer at Oak Ridge Estates near Charlottesville!
