This is the second time this year I went to this run. The Two Rivers Jeep Club ( www.trjc.com ) has a spring, Illini4x4 run in May. Then this run in August is the 4x4 Blast. It really is a good time. All the trails are on private land with what ever kind of difficulty you want. It's located between Springfield IL and St. Louis. The cost is only $115.00 for 2 days of wheelin and includes breakfast and dinner each night. Any of you midwestern guys should check it out. They had a night run for anyone that wanted to go on Thursday after check in. It was really a great night out. Everything looks different in the dark
Here are a few pics.
Everyone leaves from the same lot at 9 AM. The police come and stop traffic and evryone is off to whicj ever trail they picked.
Here is a shot of us on Friday. I don't have to many pics of us since they move along pretty fast.
Most people walked up this hill with out to much trouble. It's a real long steep climb.
Just a shot of us in a dry creek bed.
These guys in the Cherokee were sort of crazy. This hill had never been climbed by anyone. A few approched it and tried but backed down after a couple of attempts. But not this guy. He was lookin for something stupid to do and he kept trying.
After he blew a tire this happened. I was off to the side, but when this happened I took off. Sorry for the blurry pic but I was in a hurry.
So we got a winch display while we ate lunch. No one was hurt just made a mess.
The Jeep up top is tied off to a tree above and winched the Cherokee back onto it's wheels.
After changing the tire and adding a quart of oil it started right up. You can not kill Jeeps 4.0.
End of the trail, we head back for dinner. The Cherokee ran the rest of the day without any problems. But they would not let him run Saturday because the roof was not sound any more and the windshield was smashed and partly out.
