Yeah....warranty. I bought it at Costco less than a year ago, so I can get a refund.......which I will put towards either a warn M8000 or a milemarker pe8000.
Does anyone have any recomendations on those winches???

I'd think you'd be better off with the Warn 8000# winch than the Mile Marker. The winch line speed under load is a lot slower on the Mile Marker. I'd probably pick a Ramsey winch before I went with Mile Marker..but that's just my What oil pan skid did you have that bent??? I'm in the market for one, and don't want to get one that doesn't hold up. Great Pics by the way!!! I can't wait until the Moab Jamboree in October.

Itws the Mopar skid, but I think it is made by warn. It holds up well to the rocks, but I was hung up on it when the winch broke (the 5th picture) and the winching squat the plate. I have heard that some people brace them. Other than that it was fine.
So Warn hey???

I'm a little biased on the Warn winches, as they are a local company (about 5 miles from my house), the put out a good product, and have been in the winch business for a very long time. All the local towing companies around here swear by them, and those guys put the winches through some good real world torture-testing. When I bought my winch I bought it thru a friend that works there (for a huge discount). I got to go to the factory to pick it up, and they gave me a tour while I was there. That day was better than Christmas

Looks like that is the way I will go. It is only about $200 - $250 more than the milemarker.
Everyone says Warn.
That's what I get for tryig th save a buck.

I ordered the warn M8000. Should be here later in the week.
I learned from my mistake.

What oil pan skid did you have that bent??? I'm in the market for one, and don't want to get one that doesn't hold up. I can speak well for the install of the Skid Row engine skid. It protects the oil pan and the tranny pan. The install is easy and it bolts flush to the t-case skid. The Jeep Medic skid is very similar in design. If the cost isn't an issue, this is the way to go, as it protects both soft spots.

So I bought the warn M8000. When I installed it it would only spool out (thats why the cable is around the bumper), and then when I reversed the leads, it would only spool in. I called warn, and they are sending some new solenoids...no questions asked. I haven't actually used it yet, but hope to soon. Here are a couple of pics. Also a pic of the bent warn/mopar skidplate. I bit dark though. The plate used to be straight like this photo

Looks good, just a sugestion - mount the relays under the hood and mount the plug in the grill. Keeps the relays clean and out of sight.

Excellent idea....I would love to but the black wires that run from the control park to the winch are only about 6" long, so they won't reach under the hood.
Is there another way to do this???
