This weekend is the Penn's Woods Jeep Jamboree in northern PA. Lucky me, the hotel has free high-speed internet. So I can share pics from today - day 1. Tomorrow promises more mud, hopefully more pics will turn-out instead of a blur from all the motion. We had a pretty good group today - 3 Unlimiteds (of which the other 2 are Rubicons). I'm the blue Unlimited in the pics, although the photographer (wife) was in the rig most of the time, so they are pics of everybody else. Sorry for the limited screening of the pics - I just uploaded everything that wasn't too blurry. flickr photo set

Nice pictures. Looks like a good time. You have to get your wife to drive so you can get some shots of your rig out on the trail. By the way what level trail are you on?

The wife refuses to drive - which is probably a good thing ;D My digital camera takes great video - so the "tough stuff" usually ends up in movie clips. I will have to get those up sometime. The trails on the Penn's Woods Jamboree range from 4 to 7. They do a vehicle inspection at the beginning and recommend trails based on that. I chose 2 trails rated 5. Since we got quite a bit of rain, it was closer to a 6 in quite a few spots. A good mix of mud, rocks, and hill climbs. I put up today's pictures - again, the video is better I was the only Unlimited on the trail today and didn't need the strap except for pulling the stock Rubi in front of me ;D

Looks pretty soupy out there. That does add to the fun. I may try that JJ next year.

I can highly recommend this JJ - the trail guides and organizers are top notch. These guys were spot-on for getting over rocks and knowing where the trouble spots where. They understood who wanted to go all-out and who needed to drive home and still made sure everybody had fun.
I can only compare to a JJ in Michigan from last year, but the PA JJ was very organized. The food was great too (it was on a Pitt Univ. extension campus). My wife had a great time too, which says a lot! ;D

I grew up in that national forest running those trails in everything I could drive or ride. It is by all accounts the best trail system I have ever encountered. Every time I "go home" I have to take me a slow and low for a few hours out on the CC roads.
Regarding your Flicker album, it's actually Bradford, PA not Branford.
Your pictures make me homesick. Hope you had a blast!

Thanks Johncub for catching the typo - I corrected it.
The area was beautiful - and great to ride in. Such a great combo of rocks, mud, and hill climbs.
We saw a black bear crossing the highway about 20 min out of town, deer on the trail, and an owl on our way back from a trail - better than we usually do we we head out in to the wilderness.
