Road Trip in NorCal

I am going on a road trip to the Sierra in a couple of weeks. I would love some suggestions on easy trails to get started on. I am planning on taking the 36 west off I-5 from Red Bluff to the Humbolt Redwoods. After Humbolt, I will head south then go east through Yosemite on Tioga Pass for a few days of hiking/camping then arriving at Mono Lake. I have the map for the Mono Lake area and there are lots of dirt road/4WD trails. Any recommendations for something not too tough for a beginner at Humbolt or Mono Lake or anywhere up that way??
Oh! I really need help on storage options! I ordered an Insta-trunk from Best top through Off-Road Warehouse but they can't seem to get it delivered in time before my trip. Any other suggestions??

Thanks DREDnot! Good stuff, where can I get one?? How much? Is it a Mopar part?? The Jeep dealer told me that they don't have ANYTHING for storage for the unlimited.

You might have to hunt around but I know that a company just released a storage unit like the one on the post above. I'll try to look to see where I found that link and post it up here.
As for wheelin' up north, I'm not too sure about any trails but if you make your way down a little more south, towards central Cal, I can give you some suggestions or even meet up with ya

Its not Mopar.

Everyone sells them for the same price new. Maybe you can find one cheaper on ebay used.
It is the best and worth every penny
