My jeep was hit by a hit and run driver at 6am this morning. I rolled out of bed to go to the convenience store this morning to get milk and a van hit my jeep and took off. There is a dent in my front left quarter panel. He banged right into it. Im so god damn duscusted i can freakin scream. It was a hit and run driver. the guy bringing the newspapers in said he could not identify the van as it pulled away too quickly.
Im frakin snakebitten.

I don't even know what to say - to say you are snake bitten is an understatement. Early morning convenience store shoppers are for the most part regulars stopping to get their coffee or papers on their way to work - I'd camp out a few mornings at the same time and see if the same van comes rolling in.....

Apparantly the guy was not stopping in the store. He did a u turn to turn around in the lot and backed into my jeep and took off. im in freakin shock.

wow, all my sympathy rich. although I think you would've been a little more upset if he smashed into your brand new wrangler SE right? if it's just the body panel that was hit, I'd file a police report and see if the same bodyshop can pound and paint it to make it look new - any creases? a small panel like that would be under your deductible and your premium wouldn't go up.
other than that, i'm speechless. you have our support bud, where do you live around, maybe some of us could give you a hand.

I didn't want to be the one to say it, but it does make you wonder how anything like this can happen to one person over, and over, and over again??? For now I'm giving the benefit of doubt, but if a tree falls on his Jeep in the next couple of days I'm going to fall out of my chair  |

Is it the panel that holds the flare or, the panel that has the "JEEP" logo on it? If it's the flare panel, maybe time for flat fenders? I would definitely sit around that area a couple mornings and see if you spot the van again. Could be a road he/she travels frequently BUT, went to far and needed to turn around at the scene of the crime. Just a thought BUT, I would definitely try. Oh, and then when you do spot the van, it's time for some good ole' fashion a$$-whoopin'!!! good luck |

Guys, its the panel that has the fender flare. I didnt see the damn van. I was getting milk. The fella bringing in the newspapers hears the van hit the jeep and he turned around and it took off. Please folks, this is no joke. There has been a dodger over my head for the last year. Its drivable but cosmetically it looks like the whole fender needs to be replaced. My insurance company rep is in shock as well.

im a little hurt by the fact that a few of you guys made comments of disbelief. Please uderstand, im hurting right now and too top it off, I lost my job yesterday due to downsizing at my company. Please dont kick me when im down guys ok?

If its any help, they say these things happen in 3's - could be you are out of the woods now! And guy's, I don't think Rich has some sort of "Munchausen by proxy" thing going on with his Jeep, lets show some support!

I work in mortgage banking. Im hoping to find something quickly .
Ive had a string of bad luck. Im sure hoping this is the last of it. Im also wondering now if I should just trade in this damn thing and get an 06 .
