Gruber OHV Park, Oklahoma

Camp Gruber, OHV park located near Muskogee, OK 3 miles North of Braggs on SH 10. Has neat step ledges and several jeep trails. Camping. Looks like they were drilling a well when I was there this past weekend. 400 acres of timber, hills, and rocks. Operated by Gruber Recreation Trust Authority and owned by Muskogee County. Vechicles must have a roll bar sufficient to support the weight of the vechicle and seat belts for each passenger. In addition to the Jeep trails and ledges it has 450 acres of ATV and motocross trails. Saw no jeeps but several motocross bikes and ATV's.

Went back to Gruber over Memorial Day Weekend. Several jeeps were there on the trails and rock crawling. I followed them for a bit on the jeep trails but they were moving slow. They turned down a dry creek bed and we took a different route on our ATV's. We came back later and tried the creek bed on the ATV. It was terrible, we had to get off the ATV pick them up to move the wheels over bumps and get a better line. The jeeps had no problem, I would have never believed that the Jeeps could go places the ATV's could not. It was really neat. I could have run some of the trails in my LJ, but I am still pretty chicken. I need a friend to run with. If I had not went with my son on the ATV's I would have tried to wheel the jeep a little, but is still awfully scary. One of the jeeps was pretty well set up. Spring over on CJ7, 6 in lift and 35 inch tires. He drove off a 2 foot ledge, then stopped and backed back up, pretty neat. I have a video of him crawling up some stair ledges, but dont know how to post it. It is about 8 Mbytes long.
