Jeep Jamboree USA has announced thier 2006 Jamboree schedule. My wife and I plan on attending the Jamboree in Moab (October 20-22). Registration for thier events opens up on December 1st. It would be cool to get a group from here to attend that event...or at least meet up with a few of you folks. Here's the link: www.jeepjamboreeusa.com/schedule.htm

The one in Utah will bbe entirely too far for me, but I am game for meeting up with anyone for either the Hazelton Blakeslee, Bradford, or Snowshoe Jamborees. I also want to see when next year's Camp Jeep is goin to be, because may parents want to go again, and My wife's mom wants to take her Liberty.
Too many darn Jeep events, and not enough time off of work.

I am looking at the Ouray Jamboree next year. Moab is about a 22 hour drive for me from Chicago. I do want to do that one some day. I will have to tie it into a long vacation. I did the French Lick Indiana Jamboree a couple of weeks ago. There was a couple from Florida that was going on to the Moab Jamboree the next week. But that gave them a whole week to drive out there, and then the long drive back to Florida. They are retired and in no hurry to get anywhere, lucky them!

It's 1000 miles from my house to Moab. Looks like about 15 to 16 hours. We'll probably do 600 miles the first day and 400 miles the second (both ways). So, it'll be a 6 day trip for us...2 days driving, 2 days on the trail, and 2 days going home. I'm going to be saving my vacation time up for that one. Some of the people I met at the Idaho Jamboree this Summer will be going to Moab next year, so we thought we'd meet up with them again.

They aren't doing an Idaho Jeep Jamboree in 2006. It seems like that one is every other year or every 3 years. It is held in Wallace, Idaho...and it is on privately owned trails that are closed during the rest of the year. Glad to see another Jeeper from the Northwest!!!

Registration opens up on December 1st. We'll probably do ours for Moab in January (after we recover from Xmas). If you can make it to Moab, that would be great. It would be nice to see another Unlimited out on the trails. I was the only LJ at the Silver Valley (Idaho) Jamboree this Summer. Got a lot of skeptical folks that thought the "long jeeps" couldn't handle the trails... It was fun to walk right through the stuff they got stuck in or had to take multiple attempts at.... not that I'm an expert by any means, but it still felt good to be different than everyone else out there. I ended up pairing up with the driver of a Grand Cherokee....anyway...it was a great time...

I just sent my registration off for this Jamboree yesterday. Not too bad... Only $60/night +Tax for the top recommended hotel, and $390 for my wife and I to go down there. All in all, it'll be around $700-$900 for gas/food/lodging/and the Jamboree...not too bad of a vacation!!
I'd better start looking for that new rear bumpe, gas tank skid, oil pan skid, etc, etc, etc....

It's the ect. ect ect. that kills you. You will have a good time. The JJ people do a nice job. I enjoyed the 3 I did in 05. I will start to decide soon where to go. I really want to do the Ouray one this year. I think that will be my long trip for the year. We have Camp Jeep near Chicago this year. It seems like less trail riding then the Jeep Jamborees. I don't know anyone thats gone to the Camp Jeep outings. Has anyone here done one, and if so what was it like.

As far as the difference between Camp Jeep and Jeep Jamboree I have guided for both of them and i would recommend the Jeep Jamboree over Camp Jeep both are great don't get me wrong but you get way more time wheeling on a Jamboree then you do at Camp Jeep. Plus they have great door prizes at the Jamboree,

Don't get me wrong you will have fun at Camp Jeep and they have a whole lot of things for the family to do and a great display of proto type vehicles and new concepts Just if all you want to do is put time in on the trail and wheel then Jeep Jamboree is the better choice, Hope this helped
