does anyone know any places in central florida that would be good for a beginner? the most off roading i've done is on the dirt roads on my news paper route....

why don't you try delivering papers out in Ocala National Forest. google it. it's a HUGE area of land and I found links to a bunch of rinky dink 4x4 clubs that wheel in there legally. sorry didn't save the links, I didn't want to do ALL the work for ya.
looks unreal, i'd love to take a trip out there. if you can get ahold of a small boat with a trolling motor, you can go camping and fishing for days. i'd probably be better off flying and renting a truck if coming down from IL. be sure to let us know

Ocala is what I was going to recommend. There is also a big jeep gathering on the weekends around the Stark area.

7 nights a week? I don't know how you have anytime to go wheeling! Time to find another job!

Let me know if you find something around here. I'm in Oviedo. I'm also up for something closer to home. I sure miss Upstate N.Y. had lots of trails up there. I'm itching at moving back soon. Tired of Florida.
