TSF Snow Run 1-20-08

I took the Jeep up to Brown's Camp today to see about finding some snow. That wasn't a problem!! We headed up to the top and ran the trails on Firebreak 5, which are a bit more interesting when covered with the "white stuff". We were up there with a few other local folks. One person was in a very stock TJ with 28" road tires on it... He was having problems most of the day (I know....hard to believe that "slicks" don't climb up snow covered hills).

We got all the way up to the Crushers and the snow was really deep...it swallowed one guys 39.5" tires like they were nothing. Anyway...here's a few pics I took of my Jeep while waiting for other folks to get unstuck...oh, and I also got to winch another full sized ford out of the ditch. This guy was a crew cab F-350 on 35's... He was really good at digging holes

Looks like you had a good time. I have only wheeled in the snow twice. Partly because there is no place close to wheel and partly because I hate winter.

I remember seeing you up there at Rogers on some Saturday recently..
Maybe we can hook up for a trail run together some time?

That definitely is possible. Were you in your LJ? The last time I was up there, the snow was so dang deep that the staging area was a total mess. I haven't seen too many Unlimiteds out there on the trails. Just one in the Halloween Poker Run, and another maybe at the Roger's Camp parking lot.

These pics were of myself and my friends with there Rubi's, It was in the parking lot @ Rogers trailhead day use area where one of them needed a tug to get out from another friend in his YJ.

Just west of the gorge, Oregon side.

Just west of the Gorge... That'd be anywhere from Troutdale to Portland. At any rate, that means you are pretty close to me out in Clackamas county.

I think I've seen you out there. The Jeep looks familiar.
