We're packing up the dogs and heading out to Box Canyon in a couple hours. Its our first trail ride in 3 weeks and I'm as giddie as a schoolgirl! The weather today is supposed to be 80 and sunny.
Three weeks of nothing but pavement has given me a small rash. And I'm getting the impression that the Jeep isn't happy about it either. I'll try to get some pictures and post them later.
Yee-haw, I can't wait...

Looks like you had a fun day on a nice trail with the LJ. Great pictures! It sure is green in that area, I'll bet that won't last. As those temps climb with summer approaching, the green will be turning brown and the fire danger will increase. Glad to see that the LJ crawled over those boulders without any problems. Reminds me a little of the Moab area.

That is a very fun trail. There's so many good trails out there that it's not even funny. Next time you should try the Coke Ovens or for something even harder run Martinez Canyon past where you stopped at the cabins.

We went a little past the cabins, enough to whet the appetite. We went about 1/2 mile further and decided to head back home because the dogs' water was getting low and it was getting late in the afternoon. Even with this, we got home at 7pm. I definately want to go back out there and make the full loop in the canyon.

That ZJ is up for sale or trade. He posted it on Jeepsunlimited in the For Sale section. I thought it looked familiar.... Beautiful picks..

I definately want to go back out there and make the full loop in the canyon. It will be a good trail to break in your rock sliders on ;D I haven't run it since all the rains that we had, but I hear that the trail has become considerably harder. Of course it's been long enough now that all of the obstacles are probably stacked again

I'm jealous. We don't have scenery like that here. I'd have to drive West for hours just to get close.

I'm in chicago. all I get to see majority of the time is buildings. I run into the forest preserve when I get the itch (shh) but that's illegal. nice pics and glad to hear you had a good time.

We're very lucky out West. Every western state has a ton of great trails. Phoenix is especially lucky, with a nice mix of scenic and serious trails within an hour of the city.
God bless my wife for coaxing me out here from Baltimore.
