Just bought a new Unlimited in silver with a 2" body lift, 17" AR rims and 33" Mickey Tompsons. Love the truck but the soft top concerns me a little. I just took the hard top off of my new Unlimited and replaced it with the soft top. Has anyone had any issues with the fit of the side windows in to the door frame? My last '01 60th Anniversary had tabs on the door frame side of the windows just like the ones at the bottom. They locked in to the door frame nicely creating a very good seal. The side windows on my new Unlimited don't have that. The just have a right angled piece of plastic that the doors is supposed to hold in. It doesn't hold very well and the top of the window sits out from the door frame allowing rain and wind in. I'm wondering if anyone here has had similar issues? I'll post a couple of pictures later if I can. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know, but something doesn't sound right. Maybe you can post a pic when you get a chance.

Sounds like its a JK - and I would say watch the video that came with the vehicle. The tops changed a bit for the new model and most of us here on the board don't have much experience with them.

Model codes for Jeeps. CJs were the late 70s / early 80s, then came the YJ (leaf springs and square headlights), then the TJ (circle headlights are back with coil springs) which went through 2006 until they came along with the JK (four door model). Is there a new one for the shorties after 06?
Anyway, people that purchased the TJ Unlimited (04.5 - 06) started calling it the LJ (Long Jeep) just because we are a much cooler bunch of people. "LJ" doesn't really exist.
Wikipedia "Jeep Wrangler" and there is a cool chart on the bottom that shows when all the different models were made.

I knew the CJ, YJ, TJ part (I had an '01) but I wasn't aware of the JK or the LJ. Thanks for the info. On the point of the installation video, this Jeep didn't come with one. I have since figured it out though, It seems this was an issue with other JK owners so I managed to find a post on another board with detailed picture instructions. Thanks for all the help though.

Care to share the link? It is only a matter of time until someone else runs in to the same issue. I would also be interested to see what has changed on the new models...
