I found a 3 " body lift from rugged ridge. Anyone run this? My questions are, rugged ridge says a lift won't conflict with my susp lift, but I may have to put the radiator at an angle? With this said, I now run 33's, will 35's do okay. Thanks

I would totally avoid any body lift over 1". I've only heard horror stories about body lifts. Most mfgs state that you can run 35s with 4.5"-5" of lift. If you're running 3" of lift, I'd say a way to go may be 2" coil spring spacers, or better yet I'd look at tube fenders. I know that fenders can cost a lot of $, but I'd just be really paranoid about lifting the body that much. Plus, your tcase shifter will have to have a relocation bracket, and maybe your trans shifter?

A lot of people will caution you about running body lifts over 1" - some say any body lift is "dangerous". I personally would stay 1" or under - you just avoid a lot of problems with t-case and transmission, motor position and such. I just don't see the real benefit over a suspension lift.

Yep, 3" is pretty dang high... If you're going to try and run 35's, I'd do it right the first time (with a suspension system designed for 35's) instead of just making it "work" with a big body lift.

With this said, I now run 33's, will 35's do okay. Thanks Don't go over 1"-1.25" BL. Anything more is too high IMO. Do a JKS 1.25" BL, and add 3/4" or 1" spacers at all corners, and you will be set-up just fine, (along with bumpstopping correctly), for 35's. And it will run you very little $$$. Besides the extra height gained by a BL, the only real benefit is for a tummy tuck of some sort. Good luck.

If you are interested in a BL, you might want to also look @ MM spacers, or new MM's. I have the MORE 1" Bombproof rubber MM's, and they work great. (Do transmit a little more vibes though...) My first TJ, I did just the BL, and had to lower the fan shroud, and trim a little of it, etc. Much easier to do it right the first time and just figure in a MM into the equation. (Especially if you are looking @ a TT, which will put the engine and t-case at slightly different angles if the MM is not accounted for.) I'm not sure what Quadratec sells as far as spacers, but look around at some other distributers, i.e., Northridge 4x4, Rockshop, 4WD Hardware, etc. Someone will have 3/4", 1", or larger spacers. To install a tummy tuck correctly, most require a 1" BL, a 1" MM spacer or new 1" MM's, and then the tummy tuck of choice. There may be a few out there, Clayton maybe, that don't require a BL to install. With my Jeep Medic TT, I did need a BL & MM to install. Check out Northridge4x4 BL & MM package deal. adjustable BumpstopsHope that helps.

I don't know much to anything about MM or TT but I did do a 1" BL with minimal impact on all the extra stuff that goes along with bigger BLs. I did have to raise the fan shroud up an inch but that wasn't all that big a deal (expect for a couple bolts that I cursed with every bad word known to modern man). I seem to remember there was something with the transfer (or shifter) that I was supposed to add but I didn't need it b/c everything shifts fine.
I thought I remember reading somewhere that the Unlimited is more forgiving on things like that because of the longer drive shaft.
I have heard with anything over 1" however you have to get brake line extensions, reset the goose neck for the gas filler thing, along with a host of other things, not to mention the covers along the edges to cover up those nasty three inch sticks.
By the way, if I said anything wrong please jump in and call me out. All of my maintenance experience comes from Jeep forums and google searches and that's about its extent.

What does the body lift do?? net you a few inches clearance by raising the body and potientally raising your C.O.G.

Just remember, the suspension lifts are meant to put & keep the rubber on the road. Of course if you'd like to lower your center of gravity, I'd recommend eating my wife's baked goods. In fact, enough of her apple pie and my center of gravity drops lower and lower into my sofa.
