axle joint replacement

I have a rattling sound in the pass. front side, believed to be the notorius axle shaft u joint. It seems to have some play, so I guess it is shot! I have looked at Stu Olsens site for detaiols on changing it. I have the tools and skill, but is it worth my time? Or should I take it back to the dealer? So far I cant get the ujoints after market only from the dealer. Any suggestions or comments?

You can't get the U-joint aftermarket? That doesn't make sense. Do you have a local 4x4 shop? They should be able to figure out which joint it is... There really aren't that many sizes out there. Or, just buy the part from your dealer and replace it yourself. I personally think you should replace it yourself. It'll be good training for if you ever have to fix one out on the trails.
