I think I'll agree with you. The sunrider is a nice feature when you don't want to take the time to drop the whole top or if you think it might just rain while you are out. It's quick and easy to open.
That and the entire Jeep is just plain fun to drive. I've owned a lot of vehicles and this is by far the funnest.

It's gotta be the wheelbase for me... the areas my short wheelbase Jeep friends have problems in, I just walk right through them.

f the sunrider - i love the open air no doors feeling - I totally understand where you would be coming from though if you were a former tj/yj owner. It's my first jeep and I love the freedom of it.

Having previously owned a nicely built TJ, there are TONS of things I like better about my current Jeep. First off I love all the base options that came on mine since it is a Rubicon. The lockers, gearing, etc. But as far as just things I like better about the LWB: Probably my favorite thing is the added cargo room, this makes a huge difference for me going from a TJ and also owning a newer Vette this thing feels so roomy!! Another thing I really like about it is the fact that the driveshaft is a good 10" or so longer, thus making the driveline angle less so I can put 4" of lift on it and not worry about any driveline problems! The sunrider top is great, much easier and faster then taking the entire top up or down. The little bit of extra leg room is noticeable to me after taking a few 14 hour trips in the old TJ with 4 guys. The stability and improved ride is very noticeable over the TJ as well. So pretty much everything that was changed I love. I wouldn't go back to a SWB Jeep.

I owned a '00 sport...the one thing I thought it was missing was a TRUNK. Now I have one. Also the smoother ride without being a wimpy ride due to the longer WB. Before I was planning on getting seat covers for my swb...I hated the southwest look...but the H package interior does not need covering...I like the 2-tone gray.

I can't say there is really one thing that is my favorite, it's really just the whole package. I've had my CJ forever, but until the Unlimited was introduced, there wasn't another Jeep that I would consider owning. A Wrangler is a must, I would never be caught in a Cherokee or Grand Cherokee, but a standard Wrangler would not fit my family. I like the ride, I feel very comfortable at the wheel, I like the looks and I enjoy how it handles off-road.

I like it's Mr. Potatohead qualities. I can open her up as much as I want, to fit the weather or my mood. There are a zillion combinations. The sunrider adds more options. However, when the weather in Phoenix isn't scorching, I gravitate towards top down and doors off. Last spring I came home complaining that I had run out of things to remove. ;D
