Engine Idle???

Just got back from test driving an '05 Rubicon unlimited. Overall, very nice with a tight motor and automatic. My question: Does the idle on the TJ's fluctuate very much or does it idle pretty steady? This seemed to fluctuate a lot more than my Cherokee or truck and I was just wandering if it is normal for the TJ's? Also, sounded like there was an air leak under the hood. Is that the just the air rushing though the tube into the throttle body or is indicative of something else,

Not sure what the air leak sound was - that doesn't strike me as normal.

As for the idle, mine is pretty steady at ~500rpm with the manual transmission. It is a little higher after a cold start, but that is pretty normal.

If you are asking if the RPM's fluctuate much, i would say no. But there is a vibration that you feel when idleing. AS for the air leaking...don't know what that is.
